Acajatuba Lodge
 ACAJATUBA
JUNGLE LODGE is a rustic ecological lodge, located at the
banks of Acajatuba Lake (a tributary of Rio Negro), near the Anavilhanas
Isles. It is recommended for those who want a closer contact
with the Amazonian nature, in a total hygienic surrounding,
with safety and some comfort , but not enough to loose the real
meaning of being in the "Amazon forest". There are individual
apartments with bathrooms inside; screened windows; running water;
sterilized bed sheets and towels; meals in a self-service system
with varieties of regional and international food, served in a panoramic
restaurant with its veranda facing the river; permanent bar service.
All the lodge structure is built with rustic wood, covered with
palm-tree, and its different modules (reception/living, restaurant,
bar kitchen, apartments, etc.) are elevated from the ground more
than one meter because of safety procedures. They are connected
by footbridges. The nightly illumination works, inside the apartments,
with 12 V lamps of low intensity, and outside (footbridges and common
area) with kerosene lamps, making you feel in an authentic Indian
village, and dispensing the noisy electric generators at night.
This way, our visitors can hear, from their room and with safety,
all the birds and animal nightly sounds. As an added attraction,
we have a 30-meter-high observation tower, from where we
can admire the river and the top of trees. We also have the "parrots
jungle": parrots, parquets and macaws in a total freedom on
the footbridges, making them beautiful, colorful, funny and happy.
 It
is located on the Acajatuba River bank, in the heart of the Brazilian
Amazon, approximately 37 miles west of Manaus. A boat trip will
get you from Manaus to the lodge in 3 hours from the Tropical Hotel
or 5 hours from Ceasa Port (passing by "The meeting of waters")
Packages include transfers in and out,
welcome drinks, all meals, tours mentioned, guides who speak English,
Spanish, German, French or Italian.
Child Policy: Child Free up to 6 years
old. 50% charge for child between age of 6 to 12 years old.
The stay at Acajatuba
was very memorable. We especially enjoyed being able to play with
the resident monkeys like we would a regular household pet. Our
guide there, Henrique, was knowlegeable about every aspect of the
Amazon and gave us an education in addition to a great tour. - Stephen

the biggest fluvial archipelago in the world) to observe its Flora
and Fauna. Crossing the island we will reach an Indian Village (Baniwas
& Tukano's). Jungle trek with one of the Indian as a native
guide to get knowledge about natural medicine , food etc. Stop on
a natural beach for lunch (barbecue). After lunch proceed to River
Jaraqui. Through the "Igapós" we will reach its
waterfall. Fishing. Return to the Lodge. Arriving at 6:00 p.m. Dinner
and overnight
Day 5 - After breakfast visit
to "SAMAUMEIRA" , the biggest tree of the Amazon forest,
which is used as a way of communication by the natives. Visit to
a native beach on the calm waters of the Rio Negro. Return to the
Lodge. Lunch and departure to Manaus arriving at 5:30 p.m..
