"X marks the
fun spot, and this qualifies with both high adventure and grand luxury
on the Rio Futaleufu." -Newsweek
International
We offer a wide variety of luxury adventure

the Futaleufu River to family, wine and multi-sport adventures, we have

The best of the best: A world-class lodge
on a world-class river. I was impressed by the professionalism of the
guides, the dedication of the staff, the attention to safety, and the
sheer luxury of the experience. The level of comfort afforded in such
a wild and remote setting was stunning. And the Futaleufu is one of those
rare natural treasures that, like Patagonia itself, exceeds its considerable
hype. It's a river that gets in your blood and stays there.

Adventure travel in Patagonia is simply the
best! Imagine a day of adrenaline, excitement and adventure followed by
the luxuries of hearty, healthy food and fine wine. Perhaps a massage
just to conclude yet another perfect day. You're not dreaming, you're
with the best adventure travel outfitter in the area!
Before
whitewater rafting and kayaking arrived in the small town of Futaleufu,
Chile, the heart of Chilean Patagonia was nearly untouched by the outside
world. With its namesake river now world renowned by aficionados of rafting
and angling, the 1,000 year-round residents of the town welcome adventure
travelers from all over the globe. Futaleufu comes from the Mapuche language
meaning Futa (Big) and Leufu (River). It is a land where time seems to
have stood still, where you feel you have been dropped into the magical
realism of a Garcia-Marquez novel, where cows, horses and hay carts intermingle
with 60's era Ford pickups. Futaleufu lies 45 minutes south of Puerto
Montt by charter flight and only 10 kilometers from the Argentine boarder.
We provide exciting adventure travel vacations with luxurious amenities.
After you've spent the day paddling hard down the Futaleufu or fly-fishing
the Espolon, you'll want to be pampered. Our relaxing yet rustic base
camp in wild, remote Patagonia offers just that.
Our
pick up service delivers you directly to our resort. At our 175-acre riverside
ranch in Patagonia, you'll live in concert with the calming rhythms of
the Futaleufu Valley. At night you'll sleep in a bungalow nestled in the
lush terraces overlooking the Futaleufu River. Each offers its own terrace
complete with armchairs where you can sit and enjoy the incredible vistas.
ADDITIONAL AMENITIES
After an exciting day of adventure, come to our riverside spa to relax.
Sit in our wooden hot tub while listening to the hum of the river beside
you. Indulge in a soothing massage from one of our on-staff massage therapists
to loosen your muscles after an invigorating day of whitewater rafting,
hiking, horseback riding, or any other of our numerous adventures. Recline
beside the fireplace or enjoy a drink in our unique bar and lounge. All
the services and amenities at our spa are included at no charge to you.
DINING
The Quincho, or dining area, offers dramatic views of the river and the
surrounding valley. It is in the quincho where the meals are offered and
the
guests are treated to an exquisite cuisine prepared by our international
Chef. Because we believe in a healthier lifestyle and a healthier planet,
we
do our best in providing quality dining where most of the vegetables and
greens come from our gardens and greenhouses where they are grown using
only 100% organic sheep fertilizer.
Our bungalows are one of the most distinguishing features.
Inside you will find a level of comfort unmatched by any other adventure
outfitter in the
region. Foam pads with sleeping bags are replaced by plush beds with down
comforters, feather pillows and supple sheets. Crowded spaces are replaced
by bedside tables, storage areas for your personal belongings, and plenty
of room to stretch your adventurous muscles. In the morning, you can slip
into one of the soft organic cotton robes that are provided for your stay.
Each bungalow sleeps two, perfect for couples. Singles may choose to share
or reserve a private bungalow if space allows.
Comfort In All Climates:
Patagonia is well known for its unpredictable weather, capable of traversing
all climates in the span of a day. No matter what the conditions are
outside, our bungalows and enclosed Quincho ensure that you return from
your day's adventure to an atmosphere of warmth and comfort. Each bungalow
is fashioned after traditional African safari lodges with canvas and wood
walls fixed to a solid foundation. This design works hand in hand with
our high beds and down comforters to give you a night of rest oblivious
to outside wind and rain. Bathroom facilities are shared - women have
their area and men have theirs
Your safety is our first priority. We believe nothing
is as important as your safety, and that's why we employ only the best
international adventure guides to lead you on your adventure travel trips
in Patagonia. They are highly trained individuals with thousands of river
miles and a minimum of ten years experience. They have worked in remote
places all over the world and are certified in wilderness medicine and
swift water rescue.
