Daily Walk - Every morning after breakfast, guests can choose to walk on one of three main jungle trails in the company of our experienced guides. The trails go deep into the virgin jungle: only a minimum of vegetation has been removed, allowing you to walk safely . Foot protection is strongly recommended.

Jane’s Place, our jungle survival camp, brings guests in close contact with the rainforest and its inhabitants. Guests have the opportunity to stay overnight and experience this fascinating ecosystem both day and night. Avid trekkers can stay at the camp before continuing with deeper jungle exploration, while day visitors can enjoy lunch here before returning to Amazonat Jungle Lodge. Jane’s Place is 2km (1.2 miles) from our main camp or about a 2-3 hour walk.

Jane’s Place provides basic but comfortable accommodations. Guests sleep in hammocks and get a sense of how the indigenous people sleep. You will be surprised how comfortable and relaxing it is! Just lay back and let the frogs and crickets sing you to sleep. Jane’s Place sleeps 16 guests in hammocks suspended over one of two decks. The guest bathroom is near the main building and is operated with a manual hand pump. Kerosene lamps provide light at night. Mosquitoes are not a problem here most of the year since the low acidity of the blackwater stream inhibits their proliferation. In the peak of the rainy season (April) however, there are some present here (not at the Lodge) for about two weeks. Insect repellent is recommended as the best protection. Food is brought from Amazonat Jungle Lodge. Safe drinking mineral water is obtained from the nearby stream.

For those spending the night we will maintain their rooms at Amazonat Jungle Lodge where they can safely leave their belongings. Guests staying for more nights can leave their extra luggage conveniently stored away in a locker at Amazonat Jungle Lodge until their return. There are also locked storage facilities at Jane’s Place if needed. In order to preserve this pristine location, maximum attention is paid to collecting and disposing of waste properly and enjoying the surroundings in a non-destructive way. Guests are asked to be especially aware of our philosophy “to take only memories (and photographs) and leave only footsteps”.

Other activities outside Amazonat Jungle Resort

Urubu River Trips - The Urubu River, one of the Amazon's main tributaries, is 15 minutes away from Amazonat by our air-conditioned bus. It is famous for its natural beauty, and surrounded by pristine forest. Many creeks, inlets and islands add variety to the landscape. As elsewhere in this region, there are practically no mosquitos due to the relative acidity of the water.

Amazon river - Highlight for every visitor to our lodge will be the Amazon river trip. Due to the trully unique location of our lodge we are able to show the guests two different waterworlds in one river. Going by the black water dominated northern riverbank (black due to the discharge of the Urubu river) we see an abundance of birds in a mosquito free surrealistic landscape. We will visit the Vitora Regia, the giant waterlily , which is growing here in large numbers. While crossing the huge river , the visitor will witness a second phenomena of black water running side by side with the muddy Amazon river flow , with the opportunity to meet many dolphins including the pink one. Once on the other side, the south bank , one can take notice of the very rich Varzea , with the presence of wildlife , thousands of Egrets and or other exotic birds, huge alligators and an incredable variety of fish. We leave this place before dark, because in this white water dominated world mosquitos are thriving.

Adventurous and Survival Trips Most of these extendable trips are initiated within the parameters of the lodge. Depending the duration of the package these trips are following one of the many small streams leading to the Urubu river in canoes where the activities are to be continued ,while return to the lodge is by foot or bike. Our survival treks are principally based on the same principle, it is however the intention that the traveller will , with a very basic daily provision, have to catch fish under experienced supervision by one of more of our Indian guides.

Island Survival, In the very photogenetic Urubú river which its fantastic panoramic sceneries Amazonat Jungle Lodge ownes a small ( 50 hectares ) private island. This property is located in a Indigenous Reserve . Guests preferring to spend more days in absolute tranquility with guaranteed unforgettable moments , will find in this location the real Amazonian dream. From here expeditions , by land or by canoe , are undertaken to explore life in and near the river.

All our accommodations are built under the International Ecological Standards and are carrying the F.S.C “Smartwood” label. Amazonat Jungle Lodges is providing 9 duplex apartments that are laid out in a park like settling and are totalling 18 units. There are 16 units that are offering a standard conditions and 2 upgraded units that are provided for a public looking for a more exclusive accommodation. All standard apartments are offering a queen size and single bed in a room that further offers a small bar refrigerator , ventilator, small safe and a secluded bathroom that provides hot water. To keep the guest in close contact with Nature, as this forms part of the Amazonat philosophy, windows and doors provide screens rather then glass. Amazonat Jungle Lodges accommodations do not provide airconditioning! Per definition nights in our region are always cool, sometimes difficult to accept after having experienced a hot day.
The Deluxe apartments are built with the aim of comfort and specific for honeymooners or visitors preferring a bit more comfort.

Potable water in the apartments comes from the mineral water source of the lodge. This water is of the purest quality and 100% safe to drink. The lodge sells bottled mineral water, too.

Restaurant - The Lodges’ restaurant named Arara’s” is specially dedicated for the guest looking for more than the average food that is normally provided in similar jungle operations.. The presence of Leonardo Monteiro, an agronomist formed and working on his doctorate at Inpa chose Amazonat Jungle Lodges to show his qualities of rare culinarial topics in the Lodge then rather one of the gastronomical top-10 restaurants in Sao Paulo he is frequently invited to.. Mushrooms and other ingredients taken from the forest are mandatory for Leonado’s culinary adventures. In addition our Chef is implementing his ideas of medicinal gardens in combination with apiculture where is practised with stinging free bees. All ingredients used are fresh from our garden and/or acquired from the nearby region, including a variety of fish. The bar is offering a selection of international selected liquers, beers, wines and soft drinks.

Exposition/Reception Building - Our guests are received in the central building that has been named after the Mura, a vanished tribe that used to live in this region. Besides the administration, the building houses a small souvenir shop and an Internet café. To demonstrate the specifics of the lodge a permanent exposition contains a display of archeological objects found during the construction of the lodge, an explanation of the scientific research performed at the lodge and a stand from the Rainforest Alliance about the FSC philosophy regarding Sustainable Forest Management.

Game House - Built on 10-meter high stilts and with the same technique used for the restaurant, the Game House offers entertainment for guests who stay for longer periods: a readers corner with a small library, television set with video and DVD presentations, pool-table and chess corner, all together with a panoramic view over part of the lodge.

Shop - Beautiful t-shirts, carefully selected local arts and crafts and homeopathic products.

Internet café – Need to link up with the rest of the world? Here guests can check emails and consult the Internet. We also have a wireless connection for guests with their own electronic devices.

We had a fantastic holiday in the Amazon. Our tour guide Joseph had a real passion for his job and was always working even when he should have been relaxing. He just could not sit still, with either making new fishing lines or teaching us about insects and showing us other amazing facts about the Amazon. We were sad to leave as we were made to feel very welcome by the whole team. Jack too clearly has a great passion for what he does and is so well informed. It was great to see a different side of life and the Brazilian people were very warm and friendly in general! Yes we enjoyed it very much. It would be nice to think that Joseph will be rewarded for his hard work and efforts as we found him to be such an amiable and hardworking guy. “Tucano” 2nights / 3days package (introduction to Amazon River)

Day 1: Pick up at airport or hotel lobby with 2 hour transfer to Amazonat Jungle Lodge by means of Van. Welcome drink offered during check in and introduction formalities required for the coming days.Check in apartment. 1st Activity. Reconnaissance tour that will show the vast infrastructure of the Jungle Lodge that includes orchid parks, Lake District, waste water treatment plant, study corner, library, internet café, souvenir and homeopathic shop. 2nd Activity. Walk into in the primary forest at night to obtain first “jungle at night” impression. Meeting with habitants like frogs, birds and giant spiders in combination with jungle sound will complete to-days first impression of a nocturnal tropical forest.

Day 2: 1st Activity. Half a day jungle trek that will show typical characteristics of a tropical dry forest in terms of diversity. 2nd Activity. Visit to Amazon River, grey and pink dolphins, sloth’s, giant water lilies, birds, fishing and alligators spotting, return around 8 p.m.

Day 3: Early 7:30 a.m. transfer by van to Manaus with visit the Meeting of the Waters by means of motorized canoe, and/or short visit to the Opera Building prior drop off airport for connecting flight or hotel.

"Arara" Package 3 nights / 4 days

1st Day: drive from the airport to Amazonat Jungle Lodge by van with a reception/welcome drink in the "Boiuna Legend House " where study corner, library, cybercafé , souvenir and homeopathic shop are located. A light programme for to-day is scheduled after the guest has been settled in the accommodation. A to get to know the lodge tour is made including orchid parks, the orchard that contains over 5000 local fruit trees of various species and the lake area. Later in the early evening a nocturnal walk in the primary forest to meet the sound and some of its habitants of the rainforest.

2nd Day: Full day jungle trek in a primary forest. We will have lunch in Jane's Survival Camp where the more adventurous guests have the option to spend the night and sleep in a hammock to experience the rainforest up close both by day and night.

3rd Day: Full day Amazon River tour. This trip will show the natural wealth of this river in this region with its vast array of flora and fauna. Visit to a local community supported by Amazonat. Return to Amazonat Jungle Lodge around 8.30 p.m.

4th Day: : depart at 7:30 a.m. to transfer by van to the airport in Manaus. On the way we will visit Meeting of the Waters, the spot where the Amazon River is born (in Brazil) with the merging of the giant Negro and Solimoês Rivers as well as a stop outside the historic Manaus Opera House.

"Garça" Package 4 nights / 5 days

This package shows all the different river systems nearby the lodge, the poor but surrealistic black water Urubú River (identical to the Negro River, but in a much better preserved condition) The Rio Preto da Eva, a black/white water contributor known for its 2 eco systems and ultimately; the almighty Amazon River with her vast presentation of wild life and unforgettable sceneries including that of the guaranteed presentation of grey and pink dolphins all year round. Added to all these rivers is the unique forest with her rich vastness of Amazonat where the guest will have the opportunity to explore the virgin forest and even to spend one or more nights in one of the basic campsites. 3rd Day: : Full day jungle trek in a primary forest. We will have lunch in Jane's Survival Camp where, the more adventurous guests have the option to spend the night and sleep in a hammock to experience the rainforest up close both by day and night.

4th Day: Full day Amazon River. Transfer to southern extreme of lodge (18 km. or 45 minutes) On way to embarkation spot the guest will obtain information about life conditions in the local community supported by the lodge. Boat tour will demonstrate a great natural wealth the Amazon River is offering to this region; Vitoria Regia (giant water lilies) , grey and pink dolphins all year round, a large bird population , fishing for piranha and catfish completed with sunset tour and alligator spotting in the early evening. Return lodge around 8.30 p.m.

5th Day: depart at 7:30 a.m. to transfer by van to the airport in Manaus. On the way we will visit Meeting of the Waters, the spot where the Amazon River is born (in Brazil) with the merging of the giant Negro and Solimoês Rivers as well as a stop outside the historic Manaus Opera House.

2nd and 3rd Day: Start of a 2 day jungle trek with overnight in Jane's Survival Camp. Full day of jungle activities with an emphasis on exploring the biodiversity of the primary forest We will pay special attention to wildlife and the various ecosystems present in the rainforest.. At night we will learn jungle survival techniques focusing on finding your way around the jungle.
Continuation day 3: continuation jungle exploration with return to Amazonat Jungle Lodge later in the the afternoon. Remainder of the day free.

4th and 5th Day: : Start of a 2 -day Amazon River expedition . Departure from the Amazonat base on the riverbank in the Amazon. Destination is the Madeira River where the hosts of the coming night are operating a small farm. Neide makes her own cheese and Raimundo takes care for the cattle and fruit plantation. The trip to this destination gives an idea of the vast water mass and the rough and rich nature. Encounters with the unexpected are guaranteed on this trip. Birds like hoatzin and manatees, pink dolphins, water buffalos, giant water lilies, are few of these highlights. It is on this photographic expedition that life-long memories are built. 6th Day: free day at the lodge

General Information;
Check in; Upon arrival in the lodge the guest is welcomed by our receptionist is offered a Welcome drink and will receive a short briefing about the upcoming activities by the guide for the days to come. The guests will be asked to complete a governmental document and will be checked in the accommodations reserved for.
Illumination; Trails connecting the apartments to other buildings in the infrastructure of the Lodges etc.are illuminated during the night. With the last guest returned to his or her apartment trail illumination is switched off.
Trails; within the vast infrastructure of the urbanized part of the Lodges a number of walking trails are laid out that are inviting guests for a stroll in the early morning or late afternoon when free of activities. Trails that connect orchids parks with two lakes, a swimming pool that is illuminated during the night and the Library building. In addition these trails also will demonstrate the presence of thousants of local fruit trees that provide the Lodges with fruits often used for refreshing juices.
Inside the primary forest , that only is allowed to enter under the accompaniment of one of our qualified guides, a length of 24 km’s of trails are laid out including informative boards with informative tips. All these trails are connected to Jane’s Place , a survival camp inside the pristine forest providing sleeping comfort for 16 persons in hammock. The small stream passing by provides a cool and welcome relaxing feeling after a day of trekking.
Water at Amazonat Jungle Lodges is of mineral water quality and is found in and outside the Lodges that includes the accommodations. Drinking of bottled water is not neccessary. .
Electricity is provided 24 hours per day, 110Volts-60Hz. Inside the apartments. In addition 220 volts is available too for people requiring this.( not in apartments)
Television (Sky) is available near the restaurant.
Wifi is available in the service area like reception building and restaurant.

Activities;
- Tours are commencing upon arrival in the lodge, around 4 p.m.
- Tours are conducted with maximum participation of 8 guests per guide in forest and river.
- Tours are being conducted in region free of other tourist activities.
- Tours are done as per package reserved; the lodge keeps the right to change sequence of activities.
- Meeting of the Waters tour; as per standard on the day of departure prior drop off at the airport.
