Day
1:- Afternoon transfer with departure at 13:00 h. Transfer by van
or bus from Manaus airport or hotel to Ceasa market port and from there
by boat/van/speedboat to the Amazon Eco Lodge . Dinner upon arrival. Approximate
departure at 08:00pm in a guided motorized canoe , in search of alligators,
called "caimans". Once they are paralyzed by the light of the
flashlight, their eyes go red, enabling the guide to easily locate them.
The guide will then try to catch one with his bare hands (depending on
size) bringing it aboard the canoe for observation. The caiman is safely
returned to the water afterwards. . Overnight.
Day 2: Breakfast, then Approximate departure at 08:30 hrs on a guided motorized canoe to visit the river area inlets and flooded forest. . Buffet lunch. Approximate departure at 9:00 or 15:00 hrs in a guided motorized canoe to try to catch local fishes, such as tucunaré , tambaqui and piranha. Once this experience has been enjoyed, our guide will show you how to prepare and roast your catch out in the rainforest. . Buffet dinner. Overnight.
Day
3: Breakfast, then Morning Rainforest Trek and birdwatching. Approximate
departure at 09:00 hrs. on a guided motorized canoe to an appropriate
area to enter the jungle. The guide will lead you on a trek through the
rainforest, explaining about the local flora and fauna. Buffet lunch.
Afternoon visit to the local school. Buffet dinner. Overnight.
Day 4: Breakfast, then Morning Rainforest

motorized canoe to an appropriate area to enter the jungle. The guide
will lead you on a trek through the rainforest, explaining about the local

Afternoon visit to a native caboclo dwelling. Appoximate departure at
15:00 hrs. in a guided motorized canoe to learn about the customs and
way of life of these native inhabitants, descendants of the indians. Buffet
dinner. Overnight.
Day 5: Morning transfer back to Manaus
for arrival at 12.00 h. Drop off at airport or Hotel

On day 5 in the morning return to the lodge in time for the survivors cocktail. Buffet lunch. Afternoon free. Buffet dinner. Overnight (in beds...ah!)
Day 6 - Breakfast. Morning transfer back to Manaus for arrival at 12.00 h. Drop off either at Hotel or airport.

Yes, we did enjoy our trip very much, and especially the Amazon Eco Lodge. The Eco Lodge was very clean, good food, great guides fluent in English, and good expeditions with pretty many animal sightings. I would recommend it. - Katie Loehnig
Notes:
*Because of the waters acid ph, mosquitoes and viruses which cause
dengue, cholera, malaria, yellow fever, and etc. do not proliferate in
the area.
*The eletricity is limited to evening hours although the service
area and kitchen are available all day long;
*Radios and guns are strictly forbidden (walkmans, MP3 players
are o.k.);
*Transfers and local excursions are on regular basis (no guarantee
of air-conditioning on any of the transports);
*Hot water is not available in the bathrooms;
*For safety procedures, maximum luggage allowance on boat is 5
Kg (11 lbs) per person. Main luggage can be stored in our office in Manaus
which has appropriate storing facilities.
*Our packages include full board (brazilian breakfast, lunch &
dinner buffet style).
Mineral water is included during the whole trip.
Coffee and juices are served during the breakfasts only. Soft drinks and
other beverages may be purchased at the bar.
Transfers: Departures: 13:00. transfer
takes about 4 hours. The transfer to the lodge on its own is an amazing
and beautiful tour. The lodge is located inside a huge nature reserve
consisting of untouched primary rainforest. The transfer from Manaus to
the lodge or vice-versa is divided as follows:
Part 1: Manaus/Ceasa port - by van or bus (30 minutes).
Part 2: Ceasa port/Careiro town - by regional boat crossin the river Amazonas
via the meeting of the waters. Duration about 45 minutes.
Part 3: Careiro/Araca - by van for about 45 minutes.
Part 4: Araca/Amazon Lodge- by speedboat, around 1 hour 30.
ADD INFO: Tours are held with our Native Caboclo Guides , who were born and raised in this unique area of the rainforest and who have learned English on their own, interrelating with all the different guests..
WHAT TO BRING: Long sleeve shirts, a light raincoat, T-shirts, hat, good hiking shoes/boots, socks, pants & shorts, sun block, sunglasses, flashlight, swimsuit, insect repellent. Optional: Binoculars, books, camera & film, personal medicine, sweatshirt or sweater. Light cotton clothes, pants, shorts, hat, sun block lotion, raincoat, personal medicine, swimming suit and tennis shoes or hiking boots.
