Amazon River Rafting, 3 days

Level: Moderate (Class II to III+)

Our most popular jungle trip consists of three unforgettable days in the Amazon jungle. Explore Amazonian communities, trek through the rainforest, swim in natural river pools and raft down scenic rivers.

DAY 1: PAPALLACTA HOTSPRINGS
Set out from Quito to the magical Papallacta Hot Springs for a soothing dip in its healing waters. Continue eastward on a scenic road that descends to the Amazonian town of Tena, traditional home to various Quechua tribes. Arrive at our Amazon lodge or hotel and enjoy dinner in our river front cabañas. (L, D)

DAY 2: ANZU RIVER RAFTING (Class II+)
You will first warm up with a run on the Anzu River. This relaxing Class II+ river is great for your first day in the jungle. Learn a little more about local culture and how to raft as a team while enjoying the beautiful surroundings. A picnic lunch will be served on shore of the river, and then spend the evening relaxing at our jungle lodge. (B, L, D)

DAY 3: JATUNYACU RIVER RAFTING (Class III+)
Day three starts with a short hike to natural river swimming pools in the Llanganates National Park where you will be able to relax. Soon after we put-in on the Jatunyacu River you will encounter the exciting Pimpilala, Boulder Garden and Guides Revenge rapids. Beautiful Amazon jungle scenery and local indigenous inhabitants panning for gold are features of this adventure. Afternoon transfer back to Quito. (B, L)
