The Andes Mountain Range, true backbone of South America, reaches its highest point, Mt. Aconcagua (23,000 ft) in the Argentine province of Mendoza. A "mecca" for mountain climbing with its two "big peaks" in Argentina ACONCAGUA and its eternal rival the imposing MERCEDARIO, offers countless possibilities of horseback riding, rafting, trekking and hiking at the foot or across the Andes. In addition you may indulge in thermal baths at hot springs and wine tasting in numerous wineries, which are becoming famous all over the world.

Hotel: Hotel Robles de Besares - Std Room. Www.roblesdebesares.com
Meals: Breakfast.

DAY 08- FD WINE TOUR MALBEC - Meet at the hotel for a full day visit to the wineries within this region, which is the very heart of the famous Malbec country, with the snow-capped Andes Mountains always in the background. Many of Argentina's most prestigious wineries are located in this area and it is a thirty minute drive from the city centre.

Our first visit is to ACHAVAL FERRER, the first Argentinean winery to obtain 96 points in the Spectator. This project is the idea of 6 men; little they do can be described as conventional, but the operation has style and passion and it is evident in every bottle, which is why this talented group has 5 wines at 92, or more points.

From here we travel a short distance to lunch at BELASCO DE BAQUEDANO, which has the only sensory room in Argentina; a real treat for those wanting to test their five senses of the dozens of varied scents Argentine wines have to offer.

We lunch in CAVA DE CANO, This micro winery is worth a visit just to see how the entire process can be fitted into a garage sized room. Set in a beautiful, colonial style building this is an atmospheric step back in time with underground tanks converted into bottle cellars and dining rooms. Lunch is a spectacular buffet with every type of delicacy.

Our day concludes with a visit to CARMELLO PATTI. Given that all winemakers are artists, this man is the personification. He does not advertise his boutique winery in any shape way or form and only makes what his devoted customers actually ask for. Carmelo Patti has been making wine in Mendoza for thirty six year. He buys all of his grapes, but knows where to get the best and gets the best out of them. Here we will learn the true meaning of "cult wine".

*NB: Wineries may change from the listed above; we check services and normally do updates.

Hotel: Robles de Besares - Std Room.
Meals: Breakfast & Lunch.

DAY 09- MENDOZA - Three hour visit of the city of Mendoza, the pride of the mendocinos (the inhabitants of the city) since the area is a desert that -because of the hard work of men and a carefully designed irrigation system- has been transformed into an oasis with beautiful parks and plazas.
The very center of the city is the Independence Park, a beautiful square with pergolas, fountains, gardens and lots of cultural events. Following the 1861 earthquake, the new city was rebuilt around this area. Four additional plazas, San Martín, Chile, Italia, and España, are located within two blocks off each corner of Independence Square.
We then head to the General San Martín Park which is almost as big as the city itself. This extends over 350 hectares (865 acres) with 17km (11 miles) of pathways and 300 species of plants and trees (both native and exotic). But the highlight of the visit is to reach the top of Cerro de la Gloria, which offers a panoramic view of the city and surrounding valley, as well as a monument in honor of Jose de San Martin, who liberated Argentina, Chile, and Peru from Spanish domain.

Hotel: Hotel Robles de Besares- Std Room.
Meals: Breakfast.

DAY 10- MENDOZA - Day at leisure until the time of the transfer to the airport to fly to the next destination.

One of the most beautiful landscapes in the Western Hemisphere is found in the Patagonian Andes. For this reason a chain of Argentine and Chilean National Parks protects this natural beauty of primeval forests of subantarctic beech trees many of which change color spectacularly in autumn. Surrounded by this magnificent vegetation are the immense glaciers, most likely the highlight of any trip to this region. Between the 48 and 51 South parallels, the Andes Range is covered by a large extension of permafrost known as the Patagonian continental icecap, which stretches for 560 miles from north to south. So large it is that it is also called "the third pole" after its huge concentration of ice. It is the origin of 47 major glaciers, such as the famous Perito Moreno glacier.

DAY 02 - BUENOS AIRES -

DAY 03 - BUENOS AIRES - MENDOZA - Transfer to the airport to fly to Mendoza via Buenos Aires or direct flight. Afternoon arrival transfer from the airport to the hotel. Accommodation. Balance of the day at leisure.

DAY 04- FD WINE TOUR MALBEC - Meet at the hotel for a full day visit to the wineries within this region, which is the very heart of the famous Malbec country, with the snow-capped Andes Mountains always in the background.

DAY 05- MENDOZA - Three hour visit of the city of Mendoza, the pride of the mendocinos (the inhabitants of the city) since the area is a desert that -because of the hard work of men and a carefully designed irrigation system- has been transformed into an oasis with beautiful parks and plazas.

When designing these alternatives, we take in consideration the appropriate level of exertion wanted by our clients, as well as the weather and mountains conditions.

DAY 08- BARILOCHE - VILLA LA ANGOSTURA - Opposite the city of Bariloche we find Villa La Angostura a small village at the foot of Cerro Bayo but also a charming base from where to explore another area of the amazing Nahuel Huapi Lake, the steppe and the starting point of a memorable road which is the so-called Seven Lakes Road. Transfer from Bariloche to Villa La Angostura in a private car will let us get acquainted with this amazing area.

** Another possibility is to cross the Nahuel Huapi lake on a safe private boat on a unforgettable day! A quite and navigation exploring some isolated beaches, enjoying lunch on board and bathing in the sun. A must do experience!!

We suggest a visit to Traful, a small village that presides over impressive volcanic landscapes that combine the best of the steppe and the Andean Patagonian Forest. It is located amid mountains at the east end of Lake Traful. This lake is one of the very few in Argentina that harbour all the species of trout that were first sown in the 1900 (rainbow, brown and brooks, as well as lake). The place is a photographer´s paradise with unforgettable images of mountain tops dusted with snow above slopes, and specially beautiful during the Southern autumn due to the varied colours.

** Because of the road, (a steep dirt road in some parts and only one car wide where traffic is carefully controlled on it; vehicles must drive toward the mountain during prescribed hours (from 0800 AM to 0200 PM), and away during the others)- we have to start the way down to Bariloche early in the morning of day 05. Passengers will arrive in Bariloche, we will keep their luggage in storage while they wander around the city and then transfer them to the airport to catch their flight out of Bariloche in the afternoon.

2.- ACTIVITIES in PAMPA LINDA.
The activities included in this program are:
HD CASTAÑO OVERA

During our ride, we will cross the river Castaño Overa in the middle of a patagonian beech forest. After an hour ride, from far we will start to see a huge ice wall hanging from a rock wall and giving birth to a beautiful 500 m cascade. The Tronador peak and its 7 glaciers are the backdrop of this great landscape.

FD LAGUNA ILON
Early morning horseback ride to Laguna Ilón (a 3 hour ride) which crosses two rivers and marshlands to arrive at a small and shallow lagoon ( the warmest water body in the area) and feast upon the view of Mt. Tronador. Lunch. Ride or trek to Mirada del Doctor. You will follow a narrow and treacherous ridge with spectacular views over an unbelievable valley and lakes.
