Yacht Tip Top II
Rolf
Wittmer Is the first man whose birth on the Floreana Island is historically
documented and therefore among the first native settlers on the Islands.
He was born in January 1933, a few months after his parents Margret and
Heinz Wittmer had ended a long trip from Germany to the GALAPAGOS ISLANDS.
The Wittmer family settled on the Island and with great endurance overcame
incredible hardships and sometimes an almost unbearable loneliness. They
found a new home on the island paradise.
Margret's son Rolf was one of the first promoters
and initiators of Eco-tourism, now well developed in the Galapagos Islands.
From 1962 to 1967 he brought scientists and the first tourists to the
islands using the "Cologne", his fishing boat.
In
November 1969 he began to formally offer touring activities with a yacht
he specially designed and built to accommodate 6 persons: the Motor Yacht
"TIP TOP I". This new facility initiated a constantly increasing
demand for the excellent services and personal attention that Rolf Wittmer
was known to provide. Now we offer our First Class Yachts, "TIP TOP
II" and "TIP TOP III", constructed in 1998 and 2001 to
offer the highest level of security and comfort to passengers.
Continuing the family history of adaptation,
innovation, and concern, Rolf, with his descendants arewell-known for
offering tailor-made and special interest tours around Ecuador. With our
well-trained, bilingual, professional staff, we are confident that you
will receive the best personal attention and service. The
Wittmer family tradition ensure that the Enchanted Islands and Ecuador
will be an unforgettable lifetime experience for you!

Fragata
Built
in Ecuador's principal port, Guayaquil, in 1994, this motor yacht was
exclusively made for stable cruises in the Galapagos. Each of her cabins
is designed in an attractive teak wood style and has single upper/lower
berths, a locker, a vanity, and a full bath with hot shower. Her spacious
interior is fully air-conditioned and carpeted, from the comfortable lounge
with large panoramic windows, stereo and TV/VCR, to the elegant dining
hall. The galley serves fine meals with a blend of international and Ecuadorian
cuisine on a luxurious setting. Her numerous sun decks are both shaded
and open - in a word: perfect for lounging around or drying off after
snorkeling or diving among penguins and sea lions.
Nemo
This
strikingly beautiful Catamaran Sailer just began offering Galapagos tours
during 2002 upon its arrival from the Carribean. The Nemo is ideal for
a cruise with family or friends. Six double cabins, each with private
bath with hot shower, are shared between the two hulls. Explore the islands
with the onboard sea kayaks or explore the Galapagos by renting the craft's
Scuba diving equipment. We offer four immersions during five day cruises
and six immersions during the eight day cruises.
Angelito
The
Angelito (built in 1992) is almost a floating mini-hotel, with four sundecks
that serve as patios, an elegant and well-lit dining deck with bar, and
handsome wooden interior. Each cabin has upper and lower berths and is
attached to its own full-bath with hot shower. Its superb service is ensured
by the fact that one of Angelito's owners always skippers the craft. Fully
air-conditioned and meeting all standard safety regulations, this little
angel of a yacht tours through the Islands with pleasure. A perfect trip
to the Galapagos archipelago is guaranteed!
Floreana
The
San Juan was built in 1982 and refurnished and renamed Floreana in 1999.
The décor of the ship is made of beautiful, dark mahogany wood.
Each of the 5 cabins has double lower berths and upper single berths,
a full bath, ample closet space, and two portholes for excellent sunlight
reflecting from the sea. In the dining room, there are two ample tables
with all meals served in a buffet style. Or, if you like, you may eat
at the outside dining table and breathe in the salty sea breeze while
enjoying your delicious food. A large upper deck is furnished with relaxing
sun chairs. On the front deck, you can watch the bow waves as you cruise
to the next Galapagos Island. If you are interested in diving the Galapagos,
the Floreana might be the right choice for you, since SCUBA Diving on
board is also possible
Golondrina I
Offering
space for 10 passengers in 5 double cabins with 2 shared bathrooms, the
Golondrina I is one of the smaller economy priced vessels of our fleet.
It is equipped with a nice salon that also serves as a dining area. There
is also a well-stocked bar on board, ideal to hang out and chat with fellow-travelers
about the interesting day you had on one of the precious islands. There
is also a covered after deck where you can sit down, relax, and breathe
in the salty sea breeze.
