Pantanal Tours

One of the least known natural wonder on earth, the Pantanal sprawls over the south east of Bolivia and covers, as well a portion of the south west of Brazil, thousands of kilometers covered by water, water/flora and animals in one of the most unspoiled remote tropical areas of the world, where one of the world's greatest variety of ecosystems can be found. Nature is the greatest attraction of this area.

Bolivian Pantanal 4 days / 3 nights package

DAY 1: Reception at the Airport of Puerto Suárez and transportation to the selected hotel.
Excursion to the Laguna Cáceres, which border is located at Puerto Suarez, it has about 80 km. of surface and a variation of depth more than 3 meters. In springtime you are able to observe an enormous colony of herons which nest on the north side and it's always possible observing canals which are connected with the Río Paraguay and the Pimienta, La Isla el Recreo except for the months December and January owing to the insufficient draft. Jabirúes, Chaja´s, Yacarés, Yacarés, Nutrias and Capybaras are using the edge of the lagoon and it's only a matter of luck to run into the ones whom are looking for adequate places. The route is carried out by vehicle until the ecological center; from there we will make a walk on the shore until the slide.
It's recommended to bring repellent, a cap, a photo camera and a raincoat.

DAY 2: Breakfast, then Departure at 8.30 to make an excursion to Las Cuevas de Motacusito which is an open passage for water in the Calcárea rock, the horizontal outline and a longitude of 80 meters. Inside the caves you will find like bats, and strange arachnids. Inside there are stalagmites and stalactites. The culmination of the trip is the underwater passage through the final inner tube searching for the opening in the rock.The trip in this terrain is by vehicle until nearby the cave, where you will have a short walk.
It's recommended to take swimming clothes, a towel, a flashlight, anti-mosquito repellent and a photo camera.
Lunch.
In the afternoon we will continue to Santa Tecla. In the middle of the forest next to the Cáceres Lagoon is Santa Tecla, a hidden waterfall in between of thick vegetation where the apes gather. You can find 4 different species as well as Iguanas, Toucans and hummingbirds. The water has formed the rock into a deep pool with fresh and crystal clear water which gives the possibility to swim after walking. To fulfill the trip it's possible in the afternoon to be observe thousands of white herons and morays, depending of the time of the year. We will continue by vehicle until the ecological center where we will visit the animals in recovery from captivity. From the center we will walk through an open path in to the forest to Santa Tecla later turns into the bank of a lagoon. It's recommended to bring your bathing suit, towel, anti-mosquito repellent, cap or hat and photo camera.
Return in the afternoon to the hotel
Dinner
Overnight at El Tumbador Ecological Centre. B/L/D

DAY 3: Breakfast. Day excursion to the Río Paraguay. The Río Paraguay flows from el Estado de Mato Grosso in Brasil to the place called Confluencia in Argentine and from the Cáceres to Río Apea, to cross the Pantanal. From Puerto Suarez it gains access to the Río Paraguay across the Tamengo canal, at 10, 5 km. longitude. Passing by Curumba and Ladario we are reaching a section of the river which is not often used as a passage where we will search for Yacarés, Capybaras, jabirus, Herons and Anacondas which are resting and feed themselves in the banks right in the heart of the Pantanal. We will continue our trip by vehicle till the ecological center and from this point we will travel through the Cáceres lagoon, the Tamengo canal and the Río Paraguay by canoe to a hotel on the bank of the river where we will eat fresh fish. Lunch
After lunch we will look for the typical fauna of the Pantanal. Before the sun sets we will return to the ecological Centre. Dinner

DAY 4: Transfer to the airport for the return flight to Santa Cruz.
