EcuadorCafe CulturaIn the April 2003 issue of the Conde Nast "Traveller",
Café Cultura was included in the top three reasons of why anyone
should visit Quito. We suggest using Café Cultura for
your hotels nights in Quito. It is a delightful mix of English tradition
and contemporary trend. They consider themelves an inner city retreat,
with lots of personality and wonderful food. The hotel was actually the
former home of one of Quitos older families that lived here sixty years
ago and subsequently became the French Cultural Centre. The building has
been carefully restored over a period of four years, with special detail
given to maintaining the unique characteristics of the original interior.
The house, a post colonial two-story building with whitewashed walls and
a traditional terracotta tiled roof, barely seems like a hotel from the
outside and certainly does not feel like one from the inside. It is surrounded
by a beautiful lush garden, with secluded seating areas for relaxing or
watching our Once inside you will immediately be seduced by the warm atmosphere of conviviality: the perfect mix of home comfort supported by discreet service and our own touch of eclectic culture. Each of the 26 rooms has been individually designed in keeping in style with the house and has its own ensuite bathroom. A wood panelled library and wonderful bistro provide excellent services. Freshly baked bread, home-made jams, pastries and the best flavors of Ecuadorian cuisine have become legendary among the local trendies and foreigners alike. The hotel has purchased a water filtering
and purification system based on a several phase process that includes
carbon filtering, UV and ozone sanitation, all of this in order to make
sure that their water supply guarantees a high quality standard.
