Starting March 1, 2012

Day 1 – Arrival to the boat at 7:30am at the Pier of Tropical Hotel Manaus. After welcome drinks and introduction to the voyage, our boat will leave and cruise in front of city of Manaus with sights of the harbor, typical boats and the Opera House. In just a little while we will be at the meeting of the waters, where Negro and Solimões rivers meet to form the Amazon River. Later in the day we will be navigating along narrow channels giving us a privileged view of the forest.

Day 2 – Early morning we will be out in our little motorized canoes in a tributary of the Amazon River already with great biodiversity jumping before our eyes. In the afternoon we visit a village called Igarapé Preto, a perfect example to show how people live along the Amazon River. Later in the morning just behind the village we can use our canoes to visit the floating vegetation known as aningal at the Enchanted Lake.

Day 3 – Visiting the Piranha Lake on the Solimoes river - a vast area of great lakes and flooded forest. Later in the day we will search for the famous Piranhas in these very rich waters. At night we explore the rising Fauna.

Day 4 – In this morning we will be back to Manaus for a city tour.(3 day Amazon cruise ends at 8am) Starting at the very busy market area where we can see the old building designed by Gustave Eiffel during the wealthy rubber boom. After some shopping downtown, we will arrive to the Amazon Opera House the land Mark building of the ‘Belle Époque’. In the afternoon we will be cruising up in a different tributary river called Negro. (5 day Rio Negro cruise starts at 4pm)

Day 5 – Early morning in the canoes with great difference in Flora and Fauna caused by the different black waters of the Negro that should be noticed right away. Sailing up in a smaller tributary called Cuieiras we will find an excellent place for hiking and unfold a precious environment called campina sometimes just known as ‘orchid field’. At night we spend some time out in a hut built by the forest.

Day 6 – This morning we explore a little river called Igarapé Cachoeira where we can find some rapids and good water for swimming. Coming down and off the Cuieiras River we will be entering the maze of channels of the Archipelago of Anavilhanas with more than 380 islands. At night we will explore the wildlife in this lush environment.

Day 7 – We start this morning going up in one of the most fascinating rivers - the Aturiá. Its beautiful reddish waters are acidic and its beautiful sand bars are an invitation for staying during most part of the day.

Day 8 – We visit a little town on the edge of the Rio Negro called Novo Airão known for many years for boat construction but now famous for housing the first Pink Dolphins to get closer to humans. Relaxing time on a Tumbira Island. Sailing back to Manaus.
