Venezuela Kaleidoscope

This roundtrip offers another interesting combination of Venezuela’s beautiful regions. After a short stay in Caracas, you continue to the Venezuelan Andes, which offers a great variety of day tours. You will visit the Isla Margarita, where you will stay in a small, nice hotel. Then you will continue your journey to Canaima National Park, famous for its table-top mountains and the world’s highest waterfall, Angel Falls. The journey finishes with a stay in the Orinoco Delta, rich in flora and fauna. This tour offers our clients the possibility the most beautiful spots in Venezuela for an attractive price. Overnight stays with breakfast, flights and transfers are included in the price. Other meals and excursions are optional.

Day 1 (Friday)
Arrival in Caracas.
You will be welcomed at the airport. The airport is located on the coast, 23 km away from the city. One-hour transfer to a hotel in downtown Caracas.

Day 2 (Saturday)
In the morning, you may explore the city on your own. At noon, transfer to the airport and flight to Mérida, where your guide awaits you. Transfer to a small guesthouse in downtown Mérida.

Day 3 -4 (Sunday-Monday)
Stay in Mérida at leisure.
The Andes offer variety of excursions. There are colonial Andean villages, lagoons and cloud forest, perfect for strolls. Mérida boasts the highest and longest cable car of the world as well as colorful market halls.

Day 5 (Tuesday)
After breakfast, transfer to the airport and flight to Porlamar via Caracas. Transfer to the famous beach Playa El Agua where you will stay in a nice small Hotel, only 300 m from the beach. Hotel Costa Linda

Day 6 (Wednesday)
Day at leisure.

Day 7 (Thursday)
In the morning, transfer to the airport and flight to the National Park Canaima where you will stay in a simple posada in double rooms with private bath. In the afternoon, you can stroll through Canaima and have a chance to by handicrafts in one of the typical shops or sunbathe on the beach of the Canaima Lagoon.

Day 8 (Friday)
Day at leisure.
This day can be used for optional excursions, such as, a half day trip to Salto Sapo or Salto Yuri or a full day trip to Isla Orquidea or Kavac. During rainy season, a full day trip to Salto Angel by boat is highly recommended.

Day 9 (Saturday)
Morning at leisure.
You will board a small plane (Cessna 206) for an impressive flight over the Gran Sabana and the table top mountains. Weather permitting, you fly along the Auyan Tepui into the Devil’s Canyon and marvel at the world’s highest waterfall, Angel Falls. You continue your flight to Ciudad Bolívar, where you will still have time to explore its colonial city center.

Day 10 (Sunday)
In the morning, transfer via Puerto Ordaz to Tucupita and from there to Palo Blanco, a small village in the northern Delta. You embark on a boat for 45 minutes to reach the Delta Lodge “Flotel Warrao”. During this journey, you will already enjoy the typical vegetation of the delta, while passing several Indian villages until you reach the camp on the banks of the Orinoco River. After a welcome drink and lunch, you take the first excursion. You will hike through the amazing vegetation of the delta while a native guide explains the life of the Warao Indians and shows you medical plants and their use. You may even try the typical heart of palm, endemic of the Orinoco Delta. Return to the camp for dinner.

Day 11 (Monday)
After breakfast you embark on a boat to observe howler and cappuccino monkeys as well as a multitude of birds like toucans and pigeons. With a little luck, you might even see river dolphins. You will visit a Warao village, and marvel at their style of buildings on the banks of the river, while learning about the habits of the Indians. After lunch, you will try your luck at fishing the so called Sabalo, a typical fish in this area, or maybe even a Piranha. In the late afternoon, return to the Lodge.

Day 12 (Tuesday)
After breakfast, you will return by boat to Palo Blanco. Transfer to Puerto Ordaz (2,5 hours), where you will take a flight to Caracas. End of services.
