One of the highlights of our trip was our visit to the Pantanal for 4 wonderful days. Thanks to our guide, we had an exceptional time. He met us at the airport and was our private guide for the trip. We started with a visit to a small village Bom Jardim as I requested a place to snorkel. We spent a little over an hour snorkeling and saw about 10 kinds of fish; some very colorful. We floated peacefully down the river and it was quite fun. He suggested we visit Macaws Lake to view the Macaws who show up at sunset for a spectacular showing. I was impressed that the guide set up his spotting scope for us to use which added to the trip. I also took over the use of his binoculars which were better than mine. He didn't need them as I swear he can see birds with his eyes closed. We spent most of the following day driving to Pousada Canto do Arancua with multiple stops to view the animals along the way. He was very knowledgeable about the geography, flora and animals along the way.

For the travelers who have done a tour to the Pantanal or to the Amazon, and would like to comprehend the geological formation of the whole South America continent, or simply want to relax after a hard contact with nature, there is the chance of visiting the beautiful landscapes of Nobres, where there is a real interaction with the aquatic richness, or to Chapada dos Guimarães, where dazzling views and nice waterfalls, with a fresh weather, makes them a great end of the journey in Mato Grosso state.See Pantanal and Savannah Tours
The Pantanal tour was equally memorable. I'm glad we took the extra day to see the Chapada dos Guimaraes National park and stay in Chapada. With the help of our guides, we were able to have a very intimate experience of the town, and even went with them to a local community/church party on Saturday night. - Stephen Layman
