Meals
Food is an important part of any travelling experience and on this trip
you will try a variety of the very best local Brazilian dishes. Seafood
features heavily - the fresh fish, shrimp and squid from the coastal communities
with the rice, bean and manioc flour that are the staple ingredients of
Brazilian eating. Dining can be a real pleasure in Brazil
as long
as you know where to go and what to ask for! Fortunately our guides know
all the best places - some well known, others hidden away.
Paddling conditions
Mostly flat water paddling in 3 different protected bays, ideal for beginners.
Beautiful scenery for all levels.
We have support boat in case of bad weather and monitor conditions and
group's abilities and change the route as appropriate.
When to come & Weather conditions
We work all year round. However, the best time for this trip is Brazilian
autumn/ fall and winter (March to September) when it is cooler, drier
and sunnier. During these months temperatures are around mid 20s Celsius
(high 70s Fahrenheit) during the day, not humid, and cooler at night.
December, January and February are the tropical summer months which are
very hot, very humid and very wet. These months are best avoided if you
are not used to the heat.
April, May, June and September are the quietest low tourist season months.
It's best to avoid Easter and national holidays as the town and the bay
get busier and prices go up.
Guides
All experienced in leading groups in the region.
All speak English and Portuguese.

We recommend people to arrive at bus station about 30 mins before to buy
tickets. Journey time approx 4 1/2 hours. Buses in brazil are good quality
and safe. If you let us know in advance we can meet you off the bus in
Paraty and get you checked into the hotel/ orientated.
