Remota Hotel in Chile

The Remota in Patagonia is located in Puerto Natales, in the Seno de Ultima Esperanza province, the best starting place to visit the area. It has a privileged location by the ocean at the starting point of the amazing mountains, lakes and glaciers of the Chilean Patagonia. Located only 158 miles from Punta Arenas and 93 miles from the Torres del Paine National Park, it is close enough for daily excursions into the park and to magnificent areas outside the park and away from the crowds. The 5 star hotel itself, designed by the renowned Chilean architect, German del Sol, has 72 rooms, all with a view of Ultima Esperanza bay, the Balmaceda glacier and the Paine Mountain Range. Each room has 344 square feet and has a private bath, direct dial phone and safe. There are two meeting halls: 1900 and 1,470 square feet respectively, as well as a restaurant and bar. Generous public areas suitable for group activities and first class cuisine using the best of fresh local produce and a spa with an indoor pool with views to the sea and outdoor jaccuzzis. There is a whole host of outdoor activities for all types of fitness including trekking, cycling, walking, horse riding and boating led by experienced, enthusiastic and professional English speaking guides. These activities can take place in the environs of Puerto Natales, within the Torres del Paine National Park or in areas where few set foot and where nature is at its most unspoilt.The hotel was built with native materials, decorated with indigenous handicrafts and designed with Patagonia in mind.

Remota offers the “Full Patagonian Experience” with activities that take in the pioneering history of the region, its natural wonders and the flora and fauna, its fascinating geology, its hardy peoples descended from the local indigenous peoples as well as those from the hardy immigrants that came from diverse places such as Croatia and Scotland, its commercial development and its actuality.

The high season in this part of the world is from November through to March which is the Summer Season. However the destination is all year round with different attractions reflecting the season. In general the weather is variable all year round and in one day , in any season, it may be possible to have rain or sunshine. The Summer maximum temperatures can reach 20oC and in winter it may reach 8oC. However it is rare that temperatures fall more than a few degrees Celsius below zero. The windiest months are actually the Summer months.

Summer – (November – March ) The days are long and the nights short. The flora is in full bloom.

Autumn – (March – June ). Colour fills the landscape.

Winter – (June – September ) The days are short and yet the shortest day is 9 hours long, which is plenty of time to get in any activity. This season offers the best time to see the local fauna as there are much fewer people and the animals come down from the higher lands to forage for food. There is very little wind and the possibility of a little snow.

Spring – (September – November ). The flora comes to life and the young fauna take their first steps.

The Program Includes:

• 5 Daily Excursions offered according to the days program, with a bilingual guide (English-Spanish)
• Excursion hours are pre-established. Consult reception.
• Use of the sauna, open-air Jacuzzi, and heated indoor pool.

Passengers arriving on Wednesdays and Saturdays receive free roundtrip transportation to Remota:
Punta Arenas Airport to REMOTA at 1pm. and 5pm.
REMOTA to the Punta Arenas Airport at 8 am. and 1pm
REMOTA to Calafate International Airport 9 am.
Calafate International Airport to REMOTA at 3 pm.

- Rates are shown in US dollars and are per person.
- Rates and programs are subject to change without notice.
- Family rates are for children 13 to 16 years old and younger and accompanied by their parents in another room, double occupancy.
- Children 12 years old and under pay the price of an additional bed when sleeping in the same room as their parents.
- Foreign travelers are exempt from the 19% tax.(IVA)

* Clients can travel on days other than those stated above, but must pay extra for transfers. A credit of $50 per person per transfer will be allowed in that case.
* All reservations requests must include the following information in order to be processed:
Name of guest and companions, arrival and departure date, flight number.
* Reservations are confirmed after receipt of deposit equivalent to 20% of the total.
* Final payment must be received 50 days before arrival. In case of reservation within 50 days of arrival, full payment must be received.

Cancellation penalties for individuals:
60 to 45 days before the scheduled arrival date - US$ 100 per person
44 to 30 days before the scheduled arrival date - 30% of the total reservation
29 to 15 days before the scheduled arrival date - 75% of the total reservation groups
14 days before the scheduled arrival date - 100% of the total reservation
