Remota

The Remota in Patagonia is located in Puerto Natales, in the Seno de Ultima Esperanza province, the best starting place to visit the area. It has a privileged location by the ocean at the starting point of the amazing mountains, lakes and glaciers of the Chilean Patagonia. Located only 158 miles from Punta Arenas and 93 miles from the Torres del Paine National Park, it is close enough for daily excursions into the park and to magnificent areas outside the park and away from the crowds. The hotel has 72 rooms, all with a view of Ultima Esperanza bay, the Balmaceda glacier and the Paine Mountain Range. Each room has 344 square feet and has a private bath, direct dial phone and safe; two meeting halls: 1900 and 1,470 square feet respectively, as well as a restaurant and bar. There is an additional complex with an indoor Pool, Sauna and Jacuzzi. The hotel was built with native materials, decorated with indigenous handicrafts and designed with Patagonia in mind.

The Andes mountain range acts as a weather curtain in Patagonia and this makes for sudden variations in precipitations from one place to the other. In Puerto Natales, the close proximity to the ocean does not have great variations in weather. In summer, highs vary from the mid 50ºF to the low 70ºF with sunny, windy days. In winter, you can expect high temperatures reaching the mid 40ºF and lows down to 28ºF with less wind than in summer. Spring and fall weather is intermediate, also with less wind than in the summer. So you can travel year round to this area and be able to enjoy the excursions, without fear of the forbidding weather that you may have hheard of. We want for each day of the year to be perfect for our guests and that the weather´s changing moods make the experience richer and more rewarding.

Rates per person in US$ till Aug. 31, 2008

* The rates published are in US dollars per program and per person.
* Rates and programs subject to change without prior notice.
* Children up to 12 years of age pay additional bed rate in their parent’s room. (1 child per room)
* Children up to 16 years of age accompanied by their parent(s) in another room under a minimum
double occupancy pay the familiar rate.(up to 2 children per room)
* Clients can travel on days other than those stated above, but must pay extra for transfers. A credit of $50 per person per transfer will be allowed in that case.
* All reservations requests must include the following information in order to be processed:
Name of guest and companions, arrival and departure date, flight number.
* Reservations are confirmed after receipt of deposit equivalent to 20% of the total.
* Final payment must be received 50 days before arrival. In case of reservation within 50 days of arrival, full payment must be received.

Programs Include:
* Transport between Punta Arena Airport and Remota Hotel. Transfer from airport to hotel is between noon and 4pm and from hotel to airport: 8am to 10am.
* Accommodations.
* Full board. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner menus, including soft drink and wine house.
* Daily explorations with bilingual guides in English and Spanish.
* Use of facilities such as: Sauna, outdoor Jacuzzi and indoor Pool.

Cancellation penalties for individuals:
60 to 45 days before the scheduled arrival date - US$ 100 per person
44 to 30 days before the scheduled arrival date - 30% of the total reservation
29 to 15 days before the scheduled arrival date - 75% of the total reservation groups
14 days before the scheduled arrival date - 100% of the total reservation
