Fazenda San Francisco
(also see Pantanal + Bonito Tours)

The Farm is located on the left margin of Miranda River, at the end of Bodoquena Mountains. It receives water from the flooding of the rivers Miranda and Salobra and from the rains at the center of Bodoquena Mountains. The farm is 236 km (147 miles) far from Campo Grande.

The lodge has capacity to accommodate groups of up to 28 people in nine apartments equipped with air conditioning, fans, frigobar and private bathroom. Sleeping over you can get to know the Pantanal and take some of our tours. Or you can just enjoy the swimming pool or lie down on one of the many hammocks listening to the racket of the parakeets during the day! Other facilities include:

Bar – place where you buy tickets for consuming drinks during your stay at the farm. We also sell films, insect repellent and snacks.

Mini-museum – large room with air conditioning, fan and comfortable chairs for the siesta (resting). Here the visitor can find shelter against the rain and also great variety of information about different themes like the legendary Sasha Siemel and his hunting of jaguars, history of the family of Laucídio Coelho, books, pictures, and information about animals with skulls of some of the species found in the Pantanal.

Cantina Pantaneira (Restaurant) – we are able to attend from families with just a few people until large groups. Capacity to serve up to 100 people at different times. We serve breakfast (“quebra-torto”), lunch and dinner.

Rest of the Cowboys – place for resting after lunch (siesta). There are hammocks, chairs and tables. Access to the swimming pool.

Souvenir Shop – located next to the mini-museum. Presents the visitor with the opportunity of knowing the local workmanship.

Swimming Pool – here you can play “biriball” game, refresh before lunch, and enjoy your evenings.

Visitor Center / Auditorium / Project GADONÇA Lab – place where lectures about the Pantanal and about the project are ministered. The Lab and the office of the Project are next to the Auditorium. The whole complex is located close to the swimming pool.

Horse Stables – place where the horses are set for the horseback riding trip. Located close to the Visitor Center.

The activities are like those in the video - walking the trails, canoeing, safari by 4WD, horseback riding, nocturnal safari and evening lectures. The specific activities each day will depend on the current weather and environmental conditions
