The Brazilian Sailing Adventure - 5 days/4 nights
Tropical Islands - Ecological Reserve - Historical Sites
- Paraty
Cruising
on a Tall Ship!!! Away from the daily stress, wake up anchored in front
of an exotic beach. The cheerful cook prepares your breakfast, the crew
is preparing for the day tour on shore and ...... as always your wish
is our command! A sail tour onboard a Tall Ship is a true tour into the
spirit of adventure. The Tocorime's professional crew is prepared to do
all tasks necessary to make your trip the most relaxing and enjoyable
ever. As an option all guests are invited to participate in the activities
of the Tocorime such as; the raising of the sails, the intriguing aspects
of coastal and open sea navigation, and daily tasks such as mast climbing
and hull inspection (diving). The Tocorime takes you to the most attractive
and exotic landscapes on the Brazilian coast: mountains dip into the sea,
isolated beaches and varying tones of blue and green waters are a tempting
invitation for water sports of all sorts. It's not by coincidence that
cruises on the Tocorime leave a lasting impression on the chosen few whom
have had the fortune to experience its Adventurous Spirit!!
Day
1: Start Location Paraty. You will be met at the harbour by a Tocorime
crew member and taken by dingy to her. After boarding the Tall Ship Tocorime
there will be a welcome meeting with information about the ship, an outline
of the upcoming program and general instructions to make your stay onboard
as enjoyable as possible. Dinner will be served and departure for Mamangua
Fjord will commence as soon as all are present and correct, a smooth 6
hour sail will delivers us to the Mamangua Fjord where we will anchor
for the night.
Day 2: Waking up to the soft sounds
of the waves splashing on the hull, you are greeted to a tropical breakfast
served on deck. A program of swimming, snorkeling, small hikes, or just
plain relaxing awaits you. After lunch you will be presented with the
options of a longer Rainforest Hike to the Pao de Acucar rocky
outcrop with breathtaking 360. view. An opportunity to rent canoes and
explore beaches on your own is
also possible.
Day
3: In the early morning hours the Tocorime will lift anchor and head
for the isolated cove of Cajaiba. On
the way there you will witness Fantastic Islands, with calm clean waters
and breathtaking jungle foliage all around. The opportunity awaits you
after lunch to take an expedition upriver to the waterfalls. Whether it
be swimming in the natural pools or sliding down the rocks the knowledge
that you are in a remote place far away from civilization and only accessible
by boat calms the soul. We pull anchor and head for Coitia (a secluded
beach spot) where a barbeque on land awaits. Stories of fearsome pirates
sailing the seven seas are told around an open fire as the sun gently
sets.
Day
4: An early sail to Ilha Grande (assisting crew with the sails or
a relaxing hammock snooze are both
acceptable) A perfect opportunity to climb the mast and take a look at
the multiple island paradise that
you have the pleasure of sailing in. Arrival in Sitio Forte where we take
a small hike to the "Blue Lagoon" where the Tocorime is anchored
awaiting your return. Perfect crystal clear water and sea life is yours
to explore from the boat or with the assistance of our outboard dingy.
As the sun sets on the horizon we make out way to the village of Abraao
where we head ashore to celebrate our travels and of course try the famous
Brazilian caipirinhas and experiencing the Brazilians good nature first
hand.
Day 5: Early Morning Preparation and
departure for Paraty. Lunch will be served before saying your last
farewell to the Captain and Crew of the Tocorime. Arrival in Paraty by
dinghy will allow for a delightful local
historical souvenirs scavenger hunt while enjoying the sights and sounds
of the historical center.
Please Note: It is our intention to stick
to the itinerary as noted above; there may be factors which are out
of our control so we ask for a certain amount of flexibility from out
customers if we need to make small alterations to the schedule during
the voyage.

Paraty: A beautiful colonial city, considered
a National Historical Monument, it preserves until today its
countless natural and architectural charms. Explore on foot the historical
Center of Paraty, free of cars , and you will travel back in time, where
walking has to be done in a leisurely pace due to the irregular rounded
cobblestone pavement of its streets. The construction of its old housing
and churches reflect a certain
style of that time and the mysterious masonry symbols which decorate its
walls, lead our imagination back to the old times of Brazil.
