Day 1 - arrive Santa Marta - Transportation from Santa Marta Airport to the Natural Reserve El Matuy, a Civil Society Natural reserve located on the beaches of Palomino, one hour away from Santa Marta. Is is one of the most beautiful Natural Reserves in Colombia surrounded by nature,the beach and the sea. It has 12 hectares (30 acres), which holds wetlands, dry tropical rainforest, rivers and sea, and a 4 Km (2.5 miles)long beach. The area where el Matuy is located was listed as a special area for bird conservation, by the Association (AICA) "Association for Research of Birds” .
There are 10 wooden cabins with palm leaf roofs. Each cabin has its own private bathroom and terrace with hammocks. There are cabins for two, four, six and eight people. El Matuy has no electricity and the cabins are candlelit. The cabins are located on the beach, no more than 100 meters from the sea.
Day 2 and 3 - Activities like hikes on ecological paths, bird watching, ocean baths and San Salvador and Palomino rivers baths are made. It has a beautiful beach for sunbathing and resting from the hectic everyday life.
The plan in the Natural Reserve includes the night in the hotel, with the three meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and hydration with coffee, tea, water and natural fruit juices throughout the day.
Day 4 - Breakfast in the Ecolodge. Transfer from el Matuy to Flamingo flora and fauna Sanctuary. The sanctuary’s biggest activity is bird-watching, especially pink flamingos and migratory birds which inhabit the park’s ponds. Ecological hikes on different trails are also available and a visit to the Sea Turtle Research Center can be arranged. Lunch and dinner included

Wayuú village afternoons - We work with different native communities in el cabo de la Vela, Rioacha , etc. Especially with a Foundation “sembrando paz” . We work together to promote the Wayuú Culture. Because we work and help them sometimes we have a native workshop in el Matuy !

DAY 5 - Breakfast in the Ecolodge. Transportation to “Calabazo“ in order to start an ecological walk to visit Pueblito. Free afternoon to enjoy the Natural Park and the beaches and sea. Transportation from Tayrona´ s Park to Santa Marta. Accommodation in the “Casa Verde Hotel” located in beautiful colonial downtown of Santa Marta. Casa Verde is a small boutique hotel, originally a Republican house built in the 1920′s, it has been restored and refurbished to host a five room hotel in the historic district of Santa Marta*
Day 6 - Breakfast in the Hotel. Visit La Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino "National Monument" in order to visit three aspects , Colombian history, wildlife and native flora and contemporary art. Lunch is not included Accommodation in Casa Verde Hotel
Day 7 - Breakfast in the Hotel. Free morning to enjoy Santa Marta and do some Shopping. In the afternoon it is possible to do a city tour in the colonial downtown of Santa Marta, focusing on the main sight of the city.
8 Day - transfer to airport to return to Bogotá /Medellin
