Inca Jungle to Machu Picchu Multiactivity Tour
|
This multiactivity program is different from others in that the visit to Machu Picchu is fully integrated into the experience, rather than being offered only as an add-on after activities in another destination. The adventure combines activities, landscapes, local experiences, and of course the visit to Machu Picchu.

DAY 1:OLLANTAYTAMBO – ABRA MALAGA – ALFAMAYO – SANTA MARIA
Our journey begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Ollantaytambo. We’ll head towards Abra Malaga (4,350 meters above sea level), a drive of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. We’ll continue to Alfamayo, the starting point of our biking adventure. The descent will take us along a paved road until we reach Inkatambo, from where we’ll enter a narrow trail surrounded by lush vegetation, typical of the cloud forest in the Huayopata district. The biking is approximately 25–28 km on paved roads, while 7–10 km is on off-road sections (dirt/gravel roads). The total biking distance is approximately 32–38 km, with an estimated riding time of 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on the group's pace and conditions. Guests are provided with bikes and the necessary safety equipment, including helmets, gloves, protective leg gear, and jackets. Throughout the ride, you’ll enjoy stunning landscapes showcasing the transition from the Andes to the jungle, in a privileged natural setting. At all times, a support vehicle will accompany us to ensure your safety.
After the biking activity, we’ll enjoy a box lunch. Then, our vehicle will pick us up to take us to the hotel in Santa Maria. In the afternoon, we’ll go rafting on the Urubamba River, an exciting experience that combines adventure and nature. Depending on the season, we’ll navigate rapids ranging from level II to III, perfect for both beginners and those looking for a moderate adrenaline rush. The activity lasts around 2 hours and includes full safety gear —helmet, life jacket, and appropriate clothing— as well as expert guides for assistance. Afterward, we’ll return to the accommodation. Dinner at the hotel and rest. Overnight in Santa Maria at Eco Terra Lodge or similar. DAY 2: SANTA MARÍA – SANTA TERESA (TREKKING + ZIPLINE + COCALMAYO) After breakfast, we will begin the trek to Santa Teresa. The first two hours of the journey will be an ascent. Along the way, we will make various stops to explore the area's rich flora and fauna. One of these stops will be at a local family's house, where we will rest for about 20 minutes and have the opportunity to replenish our water supplies and enjoy some tropical fruits. Later, we will walk along a section of the Inca Trail that once connected Machu Picchu with the city of Vilcabamba. Here, our guide will share insights about the history of the Incas and their communication system. Around midday, once the hike is completed, we will board our transportation to Santa Teresa, where we will enjoy lunch and check-in at the hotel. In the afternoon, we will experience ziplining (canopy), one of the most exciting activities in the program. The circuit covers approximately 3 km, divided into four zipline segments that cross from one mountain to another. The lines range in length from 450 to 950 meters, reaching heights of up to 280 meters above the valley. As part of the experience, we will also cross a 100-meter-long Tibetan bridge, adding an extra thrill of adventure and adrenaline. The entire circuit is done with certified equipment and under the supervision of specialized guides. |
Later, we will enjoy the Cocalmayo hot springs, a set of natural pools with crystal-clear waters nestled in a setting surrounded by mountains and lush vegetation. The mineral-rich waters are perfect for relaxing muscles and recovering after the hike and activities of the day, offering a peaceful experience in the heart of nature. Return to the hotel for dinner and rest. Overnight in Santa Teresa at Vertikal Lodge or similar.
DAY 3: SANTA TERESA – LUCMABAMBA – LLACTAPATA – HIDROELÉCTRICA – AGUAS CALIENTES
After breakfast, our transport will take us to Lucmabamba, the starting point of the hike. From here, we will begin a moderately difficult trek, lasting approximately 5 to 6 hours in total. The route combines both ascents and descents through trails surrounded by tropical vegetation, coffee plantations, and beautiful cloud forest landscapes. During the hike, we will visit the archaeological site of Llactapata, from where we will have unique and privileged views of Machu Picchu, making this stop one of the most special points of the journey. Lunch will be at a local restaurant in the area, where we can enjoy traditional food. Overnight in Aguas Calientes, below Machu Picchu. DAY 4: AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO
In the morning, after breakfast, we will head to the bus station to ascend to Machu Picchu. The guided tour will last approximately 2 and a half hours. At the end of the visit, you will have free time to explore the citadel or enjoy the surrounding scenery. Afterwards, we will return by bus to Aguas Calientes.
