Pousada Pequi is located on a historic farm (started in 1921) in the municipality of Aquidauana (180 km from the state capital) and they are ready to welcome you and share the daily life of the Pantanal with great comfort. Their accommodations will provide you with moments of rest with the comfort of the farm combined with a modern structure and services that make your stay peaceful and comfortable. Their concern for the preservation of the Pantanal is constant and therefore, new measures were taken so that tourism and sustainability could go hand in hand, such as the use of photovoltaic energy and actions to reduce disposable items.

Their entire structure has always been designed and planned for your rest, leisure and well-being. There are 10 apartments equipped with air conditioning, fan, minibar, TV and hot water. Each room was designed to bring you into the rustic world of the Pantanal, with comfort and tranquility. The inn also offers a leisure area with a swimming pool, hammock area, dining room and children's playground.
The menu features flavors of Brazilian and Pantanal cuisine to further enhance your stay. The smell of a meal being cooked on a wood-fired stove is unmistakable and delightful. Come and try their carreteiro, caribéu, sopa paraguaia, macaroni pantaneiro, barbecue, and dried meat paçoca. And also, indulge in their homemade sweets, always accompanied by fresh cheese from the farm. Delicious!
The sitting room has the same rustic style as the rest of the lodge, it is surrounded by the garden, and has various areas for chatting, reading, table games, snooker, television and bar, where you can sample delicious drinks served there. On the bar's veranda, a few meters from the river, there is also the swimming pool.
Year round trained bilingual naturalist guides lead daily wildlife viewing excursions. Activities may vary depending on the season, but typically each day includes two activities. Activities include the following:
Ecological Hikes - Enjoy the unparalleled beauty of the Pantanal on a trail through the forests. Connect with nature, vegetation and fauna. The whole family can enjoy these fantastic moments. The tour lasts two hours but can be extended to shorter distances if desired. Boat tours - The boat trip is a delightful experience along the Aquidauana River where you can observe the riparian forest and all its fauna, relax and enjoy a breathtaking landscape. Horseback riding offers one of the best ways to explore the Pantanal, as you can reach spots not accessible by car. Horseback riding is an enchanting and intense experience, where you have the opportunity to appreciate the Pantanal fauna and flora in the farm fields. It lasts, on average, two hours of pure contact with the animals and nature. Children up to 7 years old must ride with their parents. Children from 7 to 10 years old must be accompanied by their parents. Children under 18 must always be accompanied by a guardian. For safety, a helmet is mandatory for all ages.
Horse Carriage Ride - enjoy a peaceful and relaxing ride, where you can enjoy the lush nature of the farm and the Pantanal. This is what the Horse Carriage Ride is all about. It is an excellent alternative for those who do not want to go on a horse ride. It serves up to five people per tour and lasts approximately two hours. Photographic safaris - The Photographic Safari is carried out in an open-top vehicle, giving you the opportunity to observe animals in their natural habitat, as well as enjoy all the beauty of the Pantanal landscape. The tour lasts approximately two hours and the whole family can do it without any worries. Night spotting excursions reveal the phenomenal nocturnal animals of the Pantanal. Outings often include one or more of the following: thousands of caimans with their eyes glowing orange in the beams of our flashlights, Capybaras and Giant Anteaters. Piranha fishing is an experience that takes place in Baía das Ariranhas, a stunning location, a fish nursery and inhabited by families of giant otters. It is done on a platform where fishing becomes a fun group competition. Or it can also be done in a small boat driven by oars or an electric motor for two or three participants. Cattle Handling - Imagine experiencing a cattle drive up close! Together with the farm employees, you will see up close and learn how the cattle are handled and driven. The entire journey is done on horseback and lasts approximately two hours. |
