Amazon Ecopark Lodge

AMAZON ECOPARK Jungle Lodge is a touristic, scientific and educational property, created and directed by a private initiative back in 1991, opening its doors to the public as an Ecotourism Lodge in 1995. Several streams of clear water run through the area. Over 6 miles of jungle trails including un-catalogued species, natural savannahs and creeks enable clients to explore the jungle, observe orchids and giant trees.

It is a jungle lodge with 20 rustic bungalows in a preserved forest area with typical regional arquitectural design, with screened windows. Each bungalow has 3 suites (total of 60 suites) with hot shower, fan and air conditioning. It is possible to enjoy nature without giving away your comfort.

The lodge has a panoramic open-air restaurant with indian style architecture where up to 120 people can enjoy the delicious recipes from the varied regional cuisine and international dishes. For breakfast: fresh fruits of the season (watermelon, papaya, banana etc), variety of regional fruits juices (taperebá, cupuaçu, açai, graviola etc.), breads, cookies, white and yellow cheese, ham, cakes, French toast, pancakes, jams, butter, coffee, milk, hot chocolate and tea. Eggs (scrambled, fried, omelets) are prepared upon request.

Lunch and Dinner: buffet style, with various options of beef, chicken or fish ( tambaqui, tucunaré, pirarucu , pacu etc), warm side dishes (white rice, potatoes (baked, fried or boiled), vegetables, salads (lettuce, carrots, broccoli, tomato etc.), fresh fruits of the season (papaya, pineapple, mango, watermelon etc) and various desserts (cupcake pie with Brazil nuts, ravioli cream, cupcake or passion fruit pudding, banana and meringue dessert, chocolate cake, fruit desserts etc. (special diet meals available upon request - extra charge will apply)

A bar, living room, natural pools, massage room, reading room and reception lobby are also part of the social areas. The lodge has two large thatched roof areas which are an excellent option for group events for private parties or folkloric shows and regional music performances.

Close to the lodge is the Primate Rehabilitation Center, a center for primates brought to this local by IBAMA when confiscated from illegal sales and exports. At this location, primates are initially kept in quarantine in order to be evaluated and treated by veterinarians and biologists. After a period of time, primates are reintroduced to the jungle.

During the years that this project has been in action, a twice a day food program was developed to feed the primates, (always at 11:00 a/m and 05:00 p/m). During the feeding process, this area is opened to visitors under the supervision of guides and specialized staff, guests of Ecopark Jungle Lodge can observe film and photograph the animals in a total and safe environment.

The Amazon Ecopark Lodge is located at the Tarumã river bank - a tributary of the Rio Negro - in the Amazon Jungle and only 30 minutes by boat from Manaus. All packages include transfers from/to Manaus airport or hotels. Land transfers are operated in air conditioned cars, vans or deluxe buses. The river cruise transfer is operated on board the Ecopark lodge's own regional boats.

NOTE: Our eletric power is furnished by two generators. In order to prevent unecessary polution we have limited its running time to the following schedule:17h30 (5:30pm) through 8h30 (8:30am) and from 11h30 (11:30am) through 15h00 (3:pm)

LUGAGGE SUGESTIONS: Light cotton clothes, pants, shorts, hat, sun block lotion, raincoat, personal medicine, swimming suit, tennis shoes or hiking boots and.... a great sense of humor!!!!

Meals mentioned in all packages will be included on following basis. It is implicit that clients who do not arrive in the ECOPARK LODGE on time scheduled for the meals (or leave before appointed time) will loose the right to it without further refund.

TRANSFERS:
01)During the day :
*from the airport (regular transfers) to ECOPARK : we provide transfers included in the package rates (for checkin only ) to ECOPARK at the regular schedule of main flights arriving Manaus during the day ( 06h00 am until 17h (5pm),
* from ECOPARK to the airport (regular transfers) : we provide transfers included in the package rates (for checkout only ) to the airport at 8h30(am) and at 11h30 (am).
2) In the Evening : from/to AIRPORT (regular transfers) : we do provide transfers in the evening (for check-in/check out only) to/from ECOPARK , at an additional cost of R$ 190,00 per transfer (maximum 9 people for this cost).
03) from/to HOTELS : for people at the hotels in Manaus (before or after Ecopark packages) the pre-scheduled transfers included in the package rate will be as follows:
* PICK-UP : 08h30(am) or 13h30 (1:30pm)
* DROP-OFF : 12h30 approximate (departure from ECOPARK at 11h30 (am)
* Transfers IN/OUT will be accompanied by one of our English, Spanish and Portuguese speaking operation coordinators.

- CHILDREN POLICY:
* 01 child up to 5 years old sharing same room with 2 adults = FREE of charge (except extras) / from 6 to 12 years old = 50% of the package rate will be charged.
* 02 children in the same room with 2 adults = they may share one quadruple room and the prices / or discounts will follow the above rules.
