Curitiba, Serra Verde Express or Bike and Ilha do Mel
This tour combines the ecological city of Curitiba with a magnificent scenic train or bike ride through the Atlantic rainforest to the colonial town of Morretes and then a stay on the idyllic, laid-back island of Ilha do Mel (Honey Island)
Day 1: Curitiba
Private transfer with driver guide from the airport to the hotel in Curitiba (30 min / 17 km approx). Overnight at Hotel Slaviero Palace with breakfast.
Curitiba is full of culture, cuisine, and is considered the ecological capital of the country! Besides being adjacent to the largest remaining Atlantic Forest area, it has 58m² extension of green space per person. Visiting the parks in the city is a obligatory stop, and Jardim Botanico, the Botanical Garden, is the picture perfect postcard of the city. Various ethnic groups, like the Japanese and Ukrainian, were part of the city's development, and therefore typical dishes and architecture from their and other European cultures are present in everyday life. However, the "pinhão," a nut grown and gathered by local farmers, is the symbol of the region and can be consumed in various elaborate dishes.
Street markets are a specialty of the city: on Sundays, the most famous Curitiba day market is Feira do Largo da Ordem, where you will find local artisan products, music and cuisine, but get there early, as the market closes at 1400h! The most famous night food markets are the Feira do Batel, on Tuesday evening, and the Feira da Praça da Ucrânia, on Fridays.
Day 2: Curitiba
4 hour city tour with driver guide. The first stop of your tour is going to be the Jardim Botânico that’s a beautiful garden and greenhouse where you can find a wide variety of plants and vegetables. After that, you will have a panoramic view from inside of the vehicle for the XV street that’s the center of commerce center and the cathedral of the city.
Oscar Niemeyer Museum; this museum is one of the greatest brazilian art works and it’s considered one of the most important and beautiful places to visit in Curitiba and Bosque do Papa João Paulo II that is a forest with structures that honors the polish immigration, with the use of statues of Black Madonna of Czestochowa and also Pope John Paul II as tribute. Opera de Arame Theater, the theater has a metal structure made of steel tubes and transparent plaques, surrounded by an artificial lake. Tanguá Park, place where you will find beautiful lakes, forest, waterfalls, jogging trails and also a cycling infrastructure. Unilivre park - this park is also a university which provides studies and research on the environment and ecology matters. A wonderful green area surrounds this university and it’s open to visitors, there you can also find one incredible quarry and spiral ramps that provide access to one viewpoint of the entire place.

Day 3: Curitiba - Morretes - Pontal do Sul - Ilha do Mel
Private transfer from hotel to train station (30 min approx) for the train from Curitiba to Morretes (touristic category train): The Serra Verde Express train leaves daily from Curitiba towards the city of Morretes. The ride includes 110 kilometers travelling through the biggest Atlantic Rainforest conservation area of Brazil and on a railway from 1885. The ride to Morretes takes approximately 3 hours and you will have fantastic views of the coastal mountain range of this region.
Founded in 1733 by Jesuits, the town of Morretes is full of exuberant nature, located in one of the largest remaining trans atlantic rainforests. While in Morretes be sure to sample all the delights that the region has to offer. From the famous "Bala de Banana," ginger ice cream, and "barreado" - a dish traditionally prepared in a clay pot, made with beef or pork and cassava flour, often accompanied with banana and orange slices. Cachaça, a locally produced liquor, is also an important attraction of Morretes as there are traditional distilleries producing cachaça for over 100 years in the area, which can be visited by jeep tour.
Private transfer from Morretes to Pontal do Sul (Time of duration: 1h15 / 67 km approximately). Here you take a regular boat from Pontal do Sul to Ilha do Mel. (30 min approx). On arrival at the pier you'll receive both boat tickets (round trip). Please make sure you keep your return ticket safe for your transfer back from the island.
IMPORTANT: there are no cash machines in Ilha do Mel, so please make sure you have enough cash for your days in the island. Some places take credit card for your convenience. Overnight at Pousada das Meninas in chalet with breakfast.
Day 4: Ilha do Mel

With access only by boat, the island, with more than 23km stretch of beaches is a refuge for both those seeking a bit of rustic adventure and tranquility. Vehicles are not allowed on the island, so enjoy a walk, run, or rent a bike to experience the beautiful attractions of the area, such as the simple yet charming masonry housing. The climate of the island is of tranquility, and peace, transporting you back to simpler times. Be prepared with your flashlight for walking at night, as the island is even more interesting and magical: the trails have little public lighting, to keep the pristine natural characteristics of the region intact.
The Island is diverse, able to please a variety of different traveller profiles: for those who like to surf, Praia Grande is open to the sea and has perfect waves. For those looking for lively nightlife, the Enchanted Beach is has the largest number of bars. In addition, several historic buildings are scattered around the island, as "Fortaleza de Nossa Senhora dos Prazeres" a military monument that served to protect the Paranaguá Bay from the Spanish attack has a panoramic view. The "Farol das Conchas," a lighthouse, is one of the main symbols of Ilha do Mel, where you can see some of the most beautiful sunsets on the island.
Day 5: Ilha do Mel - Pontal do Sul -Curitiba

DAY 1 – OrigIn – Curitiba
Airport arrival at Curitiba, capital of Parana state and transfer to your hotel. And as good as fresh coffee, you can’t wait to drink it, the best time to start the trip is now. Soon after check in, mounted on our bikes, we’ll visit some of the most welcoming and important coffee shops of Curitiba, tasting the best Brazilian coffee prepared by rewarded baristas in Brazil and abroad.
Each of the stops is made with a commented tasting, giving coffee lovers contact with at least 4 different types of specialty coffees. But not only the types of coffee show us the diversity of this delicious universe; in the Coffee Bike Tour we will be amazed at the different brewing processes offered by coffeehouses of Curitiba, such as the traditional espresso, the french press, aero press and differentiated brewed using the Hario V-60. DAY 2 – Curitiba - Morretes (B, L)
After breakfast, we check out and leave Curitiba towards Pontal da Graciosa. From here, we’ll mount our bikes again until reaching Morretes, witnessing the incredible scenery amid Serra do Mar.
We will have lunch in Morretes, a typical regional dish called barreado and seafood. After lunch, we’ll take a walk in the historic downtown of the city and then to our pousada to check in. Accommodation.
DAY 3 – Morretes – Pontal – Ilha do Mel (B)
After breakfast, we will go out for a bike ride in Morretes through rural villages, crossing rivers and streams, fountains of water, places with mountains views, an artisanal cachaça mill, natural pools, a small waterfall, lakes, woods and a suspension bridge.
We will return to the pousada to check out and go to Pontal to catch the ferry bound for Ilha do Mel, a beautiful island located in Paranaguá city with 25km of beaches and quite a lot of preserved area. We’ll go to our lodge and enjoy a free afternoon in Ilha do Mel. Accommodation.
DAY 4 – Ilha do Mel (B)

DAY 5 – Ilha do Mel – Ponta do Sul - Curitiba – Destination (B)
After breakfast and check out, way back to catch the ferry to Pontal do Sul, land transfer from Pontal to Curitiba airport to the next destination.
