The hotel can be reached by land or by water, and all transport is based on the city of Novo Airão. From Manaus, after crossing the majestic Rio Negro in one of the regular ferry boats, you will take a comfortable van across a road that stretches 180km into the woods and leads to the small town of Novo Airão. The hotel is about 15 minutes from the town sailing down the Rio Negro, and the access is not affected by the yearly droughts in the region. Transport takes an average of 3 hours and is coordinated by the hotel.
The drinking water in the hotel is provided by a proprietary artesian well. In case of an interruption in electrical supply, there is also a power generator as well as emergency lights in all our accommodations. In every section of our hotel, you will find fire extinguishers and personnel trained in fire prevention. Our packages were designed to allow the best Amazon experience for our guests. Besides an unforgettable experience, filled with exquisite landscapes and vivid wildlife experiences, we want all our guests to leave the Amazon with the knowledge of a unique and intriguing reality, contemplating not only wildlife and nature, but also the people and their society. Therefore, we recommend that the visitor spend at least 3 days and 2 nights with us, so that the main features of the region can be absorbed and savored during the stay. |
Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge is located 110 km northwest of Manaus, in the county of Novo Airão, on the right margin of Rio Negro (Black River). We are right across from the world’s largest river archipelago, bathed by the Rio Negro waters and cut by Pato and Monteiro riverbanks. In the region considered as the fountainhead of the Amazon basin, Anavilhanas Jungle Lodge is the perfect place to rest and relax. The cottages, restaurant and reception were geographically distributed so as to minimize the impact on the region, keeping the landscape in line with the forest. We believe that ecotourism is one of the main allies to the preservation of plant and wildlife in the Amazon. The conscious tourism generates income, gives economic purpose to the preservation of native wildlife, helps the control of public offices and encourages environmental education among the native population and visitors.

"It was wonderful! The lodge was WONDERFUL: delicious and plentiful food, happy and helpful employees/staff, sparkling clean and lovely accommodations, fun activities. We will definitely recommend this to friends. We were concerned when we rode such a long time on bumpy roads then turned down an unmarked gravel road toward the lodge - but all was well when we were met at the parking lot by a sweet staffer. I do suggest that they put up a sign where you turn from the main road onto the gravel road, just to allay the fears of uncertain travelers. This sign thing was the only "negative" and it's not even a negative! We give the Anavilhanas Lodge a very strong thumbs up." Nancy "The trip went great and she said yes! We enjoyed our entire stay; the weather, food, accommodation, service, and tours were amazing and well thought out. "Tommy "We stayed for six nights and five days - an incredible experience. They take such great care of you - the entire staff was wonderful, from the check-in and welcome drink to our departure. The best part of the stay is undoubtedly the guides. They are top notch - they are a wealth of information, very safe, and will take great care of you. Our guide - Roberlan- was amazing. We saw jacare, every type of bird you can think of, cobras, dolphins, you name it. On our jungle hike, he convinced us to give slugs a try (roasted). They tasted like bacon fat! The dock on the river is well equipped with paddle boards and a bar with drinks perfect for sunset. The best meals we had were during the river excursions, barbecued tambaqui with lots of side dishes. They will take very good care of you at Anavilhanas - we highly recommend it! " Doug |
