Jatunyacu and Hollin River Rafting - 3 Days

The Hollin River is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after rafting trips in the country. Apart from uncountable amazing rapids ranging from class III to IV plus, the scenery is probably some of the most gorgeous you will encounter. Waterfalls constantly feed in to this canyon; otters pop up when you least expect them; birds, monkeys and other wild life make this an unforgettable experience.

Before the trip you will meet the guides in charge of the trip. They will discuss various details you will need to keep in mind. They will also help you to understand exactly where you will be during the trip and go over the personal gear that you will need to bring.
Note: Schedules during the trip may change due to weather conditions. Breakfast will be served at 8:00 am and the estimated arrival time at the camp sites is 3:30 pm. RAPIDS The Upper Hollin River has Class III to Class IV rapids. During the 60 km on the river, we will be in primary jungle where we will see many waterfalls and other rivers that flow into the Hollin. DAY 1: Today we will depart Quito to paddle the wild waves of the Jatunyacu River, located at the entrance of the amazon. The beauty of this river will inspire you and reveal the magic of the Amazon rain forest, after a very important safety briefing from our rafting guides, we will start our class III rafting expedition down the Jatunyacu River, well known for its clear waters and awesome rapids. We will have a lot of fun playing some games and also exploring one of the canyons. The end of the journey offers us a stop for a picnic, prepared by our guides, we will spend the night at the Local Basic Jungle Lodge run by a kichwa indigenous family. Accommodation: Amazon Basic Homestay Meals: Lunch & Dinner DAY 2: At 7:00 am we will meet at the meeting point to finish preparing our gear and we drive for an hour and a half to the Hollin Waterfall. Here we will get everything ready: the passenger rafts, kayaks, a raft to carry our gear (tents, sleeping bags, tables, coal, kitchen gear, food, first aid supplies, personal gear, etc). Natives from nearby communities help us get all of our gear down to the banks of the Hollin River, hiking 45 minutes. Before we begin rafting, we will have a safety talk which includes suggestions for the adventure you are about to begin. The first day we raft 30 km through intense rapids. After an hour or so we encounter the portages or scouting of various rapids, where we will walk along the river while the guides lower the rafts down the rapid. We will have lunch on a beach along the river. Then we will continue to our first camp site where we will enjoy a fire and dinner together. (Work as a team is essential) Accommodation: Campsite Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner DAY 3: After breakfast we will break camp and continue down the river. This day is longer as we will run 30 km of river through rapids like Swing, La Escalera (The Stairs) and Rayorumi (Lightning Rocks). Half way through we will have lunch. We continue downriver to where the Chontayacu River joins the Hollin We will run rapids like La Wafelera (Waffle-Maker) and El Durrumbe (The Landslide) among others. Santo Domingo marks the end of our journey. We will have the opportunity to jump off an 8 m bridge to finish our adventure. To join this trip, you need to be in good physical condition, be willing to work together as a team and be flexible as sudden weather changes while on the river can add an extra day to your adventure.
