Colombia Wildlife Tour - 15 Days

This tour is designed for wildlife lovers by going to some of the best spots in Colombia to observe fauna and flora. This is not very demanding physically, but has some hikes, and you need to be prepared for different boat and 4x4 transport. Here you can expect to see great wildlife, some of it endemic. The destinations chosen are normally away from mass tourism and you can get a deeper contact with rural communities, visit the unique 12,000 old rock art in Guaviare, try the delicious dishes of the Pacific Coast, and help the wildlife and ecosystems preservation efforts in the regions visited. |

DAY 1 - WELCOME TO BOGOTÁ
We will pick up the group at El Dorado Airport and take them to the chosen hotel. Our bilingual guide will be waiting at the exit of the airport with a banner with the name of the passengers. At night the group will have time for dinner and rest. MEALS: (-/-/-) HOTEL: HOTEL DE LA OPERA OR SIMILAR DAY 2 - BOGOTA & DEPARTURE TO MESETAS After breakfast, you will have the Morning free In Bogotá in order to recover from your international flight. Your hotel is located next to the most iconic spots of the city. In the afternoon, you will have a transfer of 5 hours to the town of Mesetas and will do check-in a typical hacienda. MEALS: (B/-/D) HOTEL: EL BOTALÓN DEL ABUELO RANCH DAY 3 - LA MACARENA NATIONAL PARK After breakfast, you will go in 4x4 cars and prepare for the hike into the preserved forest of La Macarena National Park. You will get to a marvelous waterfall while observing some wildlife. With some luck you can see birds, monkeys among other species on the trails. MEALS: (B/L/-) HOTEL: EL BOTALÓN DEL ABUELO RANCH DAY 4 - GÜEJAR RIVER CANYON RAFTING Today, you will have a full rafting activity day starting at 8:00 AM, having a 16 km water activity in the Güejar river canyon, which offers great landscapes and soft adventure, but interesting 2-3 level rapids. On the way it is possible to observe some river wildlife and enjoy great scenery. MEALS: (B/L/-) HOTEL: CASA TOCAGUA 
DAY 5 - ZOCAY MONKEY RESERVE
You will check out from your hotel and at 8:00 AM your will visit a reserve where you can see birds, wildlife, some big rodents and with some luck, the Zocay monkey, which is an endangered species that only inhabits in this area. In the afternoon you will have a 4 hour transfer to Guaviare. MEALS: (B/L/D) HOTEL: HOTEL QUINTO NIVEL DAY 6 - GUAVIARE DAY 1 – ROCK PAINTINGS OF CERRO AZUL After breakfast, you will start visiting the unique rock paintings of Cerro Azul, which are said to be up to 12,000 years old and are one of the best hidden archeological secrets of the country. On the way, with some luck you can see macaws, monkeys and other species of animals MEALS: (B/L/-) HOTEL: HOTEL QUINTO NIVEL DAY 7 - GUAVIARE DAY 2 – DAMAS DEL NARE LAKE Today, you will start at 5:00 AM in a 4x4 car to Damas del Nare Lake, which is a place where you can swim with pink dolphins that inhabit naturally that lake and are protected by locals, being one of the best places to see pink dolphins in the Amazon, along with various fauna along the road. MEALS: (B/L/D) HOTEL: HOTEL QUINTO NIVEL DAY 8 - GUAVIARE DAY 3 – LA LINDOSA at 8:00 AM you will be taken to rural area of San José del Guaviare in order to visit special rock formations of the place, as well as the special red rivers of the region. With some luck you can see the beautiful Guianan cock-of-the- rock and the Wire-tailed manakin among other species. MEALS: (B/L/-) HOTEL: HOTEL QUINTO NIVEL 
DAY 9 - FLIGHT TO MEDELLIN
Today you will have flight from San José del Guaviare to Medellin with a connection in Bogota. Once at Medellin you will be welcomed and taken to your hotel located in the El Poblado neighborhood, a great area of this city, which is easy to get around and you will have some free time to explore it. DAY 10 - BAHÍA SOLANO DAY 1 – WILD BEACHES
You will have direct flight from Medellin to Bahía Solano. Once you arrive, you will be welcomed by the local team that will take you to the hotel in front of the beach, located in a rural area. Once there you can enjoy the wild beaches of the region and some waterfalls. With some luck you can see turtles nesting. MEALS: (B/L/D) HOTEL: MAMA ORBE ECO-FARM DAY 11 - BAHÍA SOLANO DAY 2 – WHALE-WATCHING After breakfast you will have a 3 hour whale watching activity in the ocean (only from Mid- July to Mid-October). In the afternoon you will have a jungle hike in order to look endemic colorful frogs, birds and with some luck endemic moneys. MEALS: (B/L/D) HOTEL: MAMA ORBE ECO-FARM DAY 12 - BAHÍA SOLANO DAY 3 – UTRIA NATIONAL PARK After breakfast you will visit by boat the Utria National Park, where you can see well-preserved mangroves, as well as the endemic animals of that ecosystem., Later on, you will get back to the hotel where you can have a turtle-liberation activity and with some luck will see the mothers laying their eggs. MEALS: (B/L/D) HOTEL: MAMA ORBE ECO-FARM DAY 13 - BAHÍA SOLANO DAY 4 & FLIGHT TO MEDELLIN You will wake up early in the morning in order to see birds. After that you will have breakfast and will be taken to the airport of Bahía Solano 2 hours before your flight back to Medellín (or optionally add a flight to Bogota or Cartagena with a connection in Medellín). Once at the city you have free time. MEALS: (B/-/-) HOTEL: HOTEL DIEZ DAY 14 - MEDELLIN
On this day, you will have free time in order to discover the city by yourself. You can visit Comuna 13, which is one of the most famous activities in this city, where you can see the transformation and evolution from a violent past to a modern city or visit the main spots of the city center and other highlights of the city. Or we can arrange a guided tour. MEALS: (B/-/-) HOTEL: HOTEL DIEZ DAY 15 - FLIGHT OUT You will have breakfast at the hotel, and you will be taken to the international airport in order to be there 3 hours before your flight out the country.
