The name translates directly to "Place of Dreams" in native Mapuche language, and the location honors it in many levels: one of the most beautiful spots in Patagonia to visit, resting by the shores of a pristine glacial Gutierrez Lake, and at the foot of an awe-inspiring massive mountain range, Mt Catedral. The few houses and cabins are surrounded by tall coihue forests filled with trails, waterfalls, viewpoints and hundreds of magical spots for guests to explore. It provides an unforgettable experience for body and soul, and it’s located just 30 minutes from downtown Bariloche (gateway to the North Patagonia Andes Lake District), 40 minutes from an international airport and 30 minutes from the ski resort. They are 2 hours away from Buenos Aires, Argentina, by plane. The property embeds all the elements Patagonia has to offer: 5 a privileged location within the Lake District and the Nahuel Huapi National Park, 4 miles of lakeshore at the foot of a steep mountain, pristine forests, creeks, waterfalls and a valley for calm wandering; all within their property allowing all kinds of activities with no need for transfers and superb views over mountains, lake and valley. They offer a wide range of outdoor activities and services. You can ride on horseback, hike and climb within the 500 acres of the property, through wonderful mountain trails (that also link to the Park trail network); ideal grounds for birdwatching as well. You can paddle in kayaks or fly fish at the lake. Their horses are very well trained by their horse whisperer guide who takes riders into different trail options. As for hiking, 16 miles network of trails within the property offer many options of different lengths and difficulty leading to various kinds of landscape with waterfalls, hilltops and scenic points with stunning views They combine the striking beauty of the National Park and close contact with Nature with deluxe accommodations: the experience of being at home with all types of outdoor activities, delicious home-made meals from a team of chefs focused on providing healthy, balanced, organic & delicious food, and an exclusive service with a personal touch that allow their guests to live through unforgettable experiences. They offer three different Full Board options suited for different kinds of travelers:
All activities are available for all guests regardless of their lodging plans, provided they are booked with a bit of advanced notice. They also offer other additional activities for adventurous souls: wine tasting, music concerts at their non-denominational Temple, cooking classes, fly fishing, birdwatching, tango lessons and many more options are available on site. Fly fishing in one of the world-class rivers in the area, climbing on the granite walls of the Catedral, mountain biking, sailing, skiing, snowshoeing and all types of outdoor activities are also available in the area and we can assist with a group of extremely reliable guides.
They are a small family operation and almost everything at home was done by then: clearing an abandoned beautiful land, construction, decoration, promotion and hosting their guests with a very personal touch to make them truly feel at home. They foster love for Nature; the creation of new connections among their guests and with staff, animals & Nature; the awareness of being part of a whole that we all need to take care of by taking action for the environment and communities around. They try to facilitate actions that make at least a little difference in the world: the special energy of the place permeates in every soul. High standards are ingrained in them – they feel that luxury is non-pretentious high quality service, and this is the essence of everything they offer: from their cozy and elegant-rustic style rooms with a decoration that blends wood and antiques, to their gourmet meals that are not only delicious and healthy but also served with love, care and attention to detail. Activities in this amazingly majestic nature are led by professional guides that have worked with them for many years and have honed their skills to an amazing level, always in tune with the core values of respect, conservation and learning that the Estancia holds. And they have the loving attitude of their animals – among themselves and with guests – some referring to them as being in paradise, puzzled by the harmony between who naturally should be chasing, fighting or threatening each other in some way. So this is “luxury” for them, it is the best quality they can offer. Peuma Hue is also an ideal destination for events and retreats, providing not only lodging and meals but also an ample meeting room that can be set up in different ways to adjust to specific needs. Being close to town but not close enough to have people wander off, Peuma Hue is ideal for retreats and work groups: meetings can be held in a comfortable and inviting place and leisure time can be organized right after in the same property, with no need for transfers to do activities, nor interrupting the processes that are sought. All facilities are non-smoking. Check-in time is at 2 pm and check-out at 10 am. Wi-fi service is available in most of the areas in the park and inside the buildings. Their organic vegetable garden provides the basis for healthy and gourmet meals. Dining options include delicious balanced meals based on their organic garden, all types of berries and home-made products such as bread, patisserie, pasta, jams, honey, preserves and liqueurs.
