Independent W Trek in ​Torres del Paine

The Torres del Paine Independent trek is a partly self guided program. This means that it is a combination of regular land transportation and navigation services with a self-guided trekking circuit, plus the corresponding accommodation.

DAY 1: PUNTA ARENAS – PUERTO NATALES
Upon arrival at the airport of Punta Arenas you will need to board Public transportation to Puerto Natales; leading you through the typical pampa steppes of the Magallanes Region. You will encounter various animals like sheep, guanacos, rheas and a variety of birds. The charming town of Puerto Natales is situated on the banks of the Última Esperanza Bay. Overnight at Aquaterra Lodge in Puerto Natales. DAY 2: PUERTO NATALES – LAKE PEHOE – REFUGIO GREY After breakfast you will board public transportation for a two and half hour journey towards Torres Del Paine national park. Upon entering the park you will travel to Puerto Pudeto where you will cross the lake by catamaran, towards Paine Grande. This lake crossing offers impressive views of the surrounding giant icebergs and the wide open wilderness. Afterwards, you will continue with a relatively easy hike on the colorful landscape and towards the immense Glacier Grey. Here you will arrive at a lookout point where you will be able to see the vast glacier wall and vibrant blue icebergs from close up. Overnight and dinner at the Refugio Grey. (B, D) DAY 3: HIKE TO GLACIER GREY – LODGE PAINE GRANDE Today you will have the opportunity to explore and enjoy the true beauties of the Glacier Grey. In the afternoon you will descend to Lake Pehoe where you will spend the night. Overnight and dinner at Lodge Paine Grande. (B, BL, D) DAY 4: LODGE PAINE GRANDE – FRENCH VALLEY – REFUGIO LOS CUERNOS Once you have had breakfast you will start your amazing trek to one the most beautiful valleys of the park; Valle Frances. On your hike you will find yourself surrounded by high peaks, huge granite walls and a hanging glacier. You will continue your journey towards the lodge and the path along the Nordenskjöld Lake located below the impressive stone walls of the Paine Massif. Dinner and overnight at the Refugio Los Cuernos. (B, BL, D) DAY 5: HIKING BASE LA TORRES Today will be a bit long, but extended daylight hours will allow you the opportunity for a spectacular hike towards the base of the towers of the Paine Massif. Overnight and dinner at the Refugio Chileno in the Ascencio Valley. (B, BL, D) DAY 6: BACK TO PUERTO NATALES In the morning you will hike back along the beautiful pathway towards the Las Torres lodge where you will have an opportunity to rest and relax. After the break, transportation will pick you up and transfer you back to entrance of the park where you will board a public bus to Puerto Natales. Overnight in Puerto Natales. (B, BL) DAY 7: PUERTO NATALES – PUNTA ARENAS After breakfast you will board public transportation for a 3 hour journey to the airport of Punta Arenas. (B) "It was excellent, thanks.
