The Sani Lodge Restaurant offers a rustic and relaxed atmosphere for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The open windows let you enjoy the song of the frogs and cicadas as you savor your meal. All ingredients used in the kitchen are grown and sold locally in order to further support both the community and neighboring farmers. Bottled water is provided free of charge, and we encourage guests to bringing a reusable water bottle to help minimize environmental impacts. The Sani Lodge bar is equipped with wooden chairs and tables that overlook the lagoon providing the perfect end to your day. Sip a cold beer, wine or a classic cocktail made by our barman while enjoying the view of the glistening lagoon waters. 4 Day Family Tour Day 1 - Getting into the Amazon
Your journey begins with the first flight in the morning with a duration of 40 minutes from Quito to Coca where the Sani personnel will pick up you and take you to the port of the Napo River. Your bilingual guide will explain to you about the security that must be had before, during and after embarking on a motorboat, whose trip will last 2 and a half hours through the Napo River, the largest tributary of the Amazon in the territory of the Ecuadorian Amazon. During this journey you can get in touch with the ancestral communities that live close of the Napo River. Once arrived at the main port of Sani Lodge, we will continue with a 15 minute walk along a wooden platform and then a canoe navigation through the beautiful Laguna de Challwacocha. The administrator of Sani Lodge will welcome you to your jungle holidays and will accommodate you in a quadruple room for 2 adults and 2 children. Day 2 -Yasuni National Park - Sani Warmi After breakfast you will leave towards the Napo river to take the canoe in the direction of (Yasuní National Park). Community Center of Sani Isla. Here you will know how the community lives in harmony with the Amazon Rainforest. Everyone will know a new culture, with different customs and traditions, they will learn how local life is environmentally sustainable. They will know their conservation and entrepreneurship projects. Along with an activity of making handicrafts. Lunch will be in the community and you can taste the traditional food of the area, then prepare to compete with the practice of the blowgun, an ancient Kichwa tradition of hunting. In the afternoon they will make handmade chocolate together with the women of the community. Enjoy your return in the afternoon to the lodge for dinner. In the evening the guide will tell stories and legends from the Amazon, the guides will be able to talk with the children to give feedback on what they saw and learned during this beautiful trip. Day 3 - Birdwatching and Sportfishing After breakfast, experience life in the upper canopy of the forest where the all family will have to climb the 36 meter (118 ft) tower. To get to the place, the guides will row in the Challwacocha Lagoon for approximately 30 minutes, followed by a short 15-minute walk. More than 565 species of birds have been recorded in the area, including parrots, toucans, meileros, tanagers, fly catchers, hummingbirds and, with a bit of luck, howler monkeys, squirrels, or sloths resting in the treetops. The tower offers a different perspective, opening a window to a different world of Amazonian diversity that is difficult not to say impossible to see from the forest floor. Return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch there are many alternatives for your enjoyment, like bird watching from the bar or just relaxing in the hammocks. In the afternoon they will organize a sport fishing with the children. After dinner, explore the lagoon in search of the rare Black Caiman in danger of extinction that can reach up to 6 meters long. Children will be surprised to see these awesome reptiles. Return to the lodge. Day 4 - Return to Coca After breakfast you will go to the Napo River to take the motor canoe and visit the parrot wall of the Yasuní National Park. Where thousands of parrots look for a place in the wall of the salting pit to eat clay in a process of detoxification. Among the species that can be found, we count the Amazonian parrots, cabeciamarilla, cabeciazul and coroniamarilla. We will continue the trip to Coca to arrive in time to take a return flight to Quito. Birdwatching - 4 DaysDay 1

The canoe ride is followed by a 15-minute walk through a wooden platform and 20-minute paddle canoe across the beautiful Challwacocha Lake. The staff will welcome you with refreshing cold drinks before you start your adventure in the Amazon Rainforest. You will meet your birdwatching guide. Late afternoon, you will have a short walk on the nearby trails or a canoe ride with many chances to observe primates, Amazonian birds, black caimans, and a close encounter with the amazing flora represented by cedar trees, orchids, and bromeliads but above all you will leave to look for birds. Return to the lodge, where our chef will be happy to offer a wide variety of national and international cuisine that caters vegetarians and vegans. Then you will have a briefing with the guide about the Amazon Rainforest while you enjoy drinks and cocktails made by the bartender. Day 2 After breakfast, experience the life on the tree tops from the 36-meter (118 ft.) observation tower. To get there your leaders will paddle on the Challwacocha Lake for 30 minutes followed by a short 10-minute walk. Over 565 species of birds have been registered so far, including colorful birds such as macaws, toucans, honeycreepers, tanagers, flycatchers, hummingbirds, and with a bit of luck a close view of howler, squirrel monkeys or sloths resting on the canopy. The tower gives you a unique perspective, opening a whole new world of Amazon biodiversity that is often difficult and almost impossible to see from the understory. The journey continues exploring the nearby trails searching for more Amazonian creatures. Return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, there are many alternatives for your enjoyment, bird watching from the bar, in front of the lagoon or simply relax in the hammocks. In the afternoon, you will walk through the Amazon royal flycatcher trail with the goal to find this species and more species of birds. After dinner, explore the lagoon looking for the rare Black Caiman that can reach up to 6 meters of large and also is in danger of extinction, then you’ll go back to the lodge. Day 3 After breakfast departure to the Napo river to board the boat and visit the parrot-clay lick at Yasuní National Park for a wonderful view of hundreds of parrots searching for a gap to land and eat the earth in a process for their digestion. Here you will see Mealy Amazon, Yellow-crowned, Orange-winged, and Blue-headed parrots. Continue with a hike on the south of the Napo inside Yasuní National Park considered for scientists like the most biodiverse area in the world, here, some species that cannot be found in the north might be spotted: golden–mantled tamarins and spider monkeys, blue and yellow macaws and with a bit of luck a close encounter with white-lipped or collared peccaries. Head back to Sani Community Center to visit a native house to get a taste of how a typical Kichwa family lives. Enjoy their food, drinks, customs, and culture of Sani Isla community and learn how the lifestyle of the locals is environmentally sustainable. Visit the islands of Napo River to find the species that habit these ecosystems. It is very important that you bring your binoculars to see them. You’ll go to: • Black-and-white Antbird Island, where this bird lives. • Castelnau's antshrike Island, where this bird lives. • Fuscous Flycatcher Island, where this bird lives. • Spotted tody-flycatcher Island, where this bird lives. • River Tyrannulet Island, where this bird lives. • Riverside Tyrant Island, where this bird lives. You have many places where you can observe hundreds of birds. After to visit all these Islands you’ll have the dinner at the Lodge. After dinner, you’ll go to look for owls and, in the return, there will be a feedback of birds seen along with the checklist. Day 4 After breakfast head back to the Napo River to board the boat and visit the parrots’ wall at Yasuní National Park for a wonderful view of hundreds of parrots searching for a gap to land and eat the earth in a process for their digestion. We can confirm a translator in languages such as: • French, Italian, and German for groups until 10 people with an additional cost of US $ 115.00 per day per reservation (not per person). • This fee is subject to change according to the market and language, this additional fee must be paid in advance, before the departing date. • The request of a translator in other language must be made at least 2 months in advance. • Groups until 10 people, we guarantee a bilingual and native guides. Information to Confirm: Sani Lodge requires the complete information of the person who will enter into the Lodge. It is very important that the client sends these details once the reservation is confirmed and up to 30 days before departing date. The reservation form must be completed and sent to the sales representative with the following information: • Name and surname • Passport number • Nationality • Date of Birth DD / MM / AA • Age • Food and Medical Restrictions • Allergies • Specific interests • Type of accommodation chosen • Relationship with the person who is travelling • Shoe size • Contact in case of Emergency RESERVATION AND PAYMENT POLICIES: • All the reservations require a minimum deposit of 30% of the total reservation per person, which must be paid 15 days after the confirmation of the reservation. • For reservations made between 90 and 45 days before the departing date of the tour, the maximum deposit must be made 10 days after the confirmation of the reservation and the total payment must be received 30 days before the departing date of the tour. • For reservations between 30 and 1 day before the departing date of the tour, 100% of the payment is required at the confirmation time of the reservation. • All reservations must be paid in full 30 days before the departing date of the tour. • If the client does not make the payment in the dates established for reservations, Sani Lodge has the right to cancel the reservation and is not responsible for future customer complaints. CANCELLATION PROCEDURE OF THE TOUR: Within the general rules, Sani Lodge will refund the deposits as follows: • 100% 6 months before the tour • 80% 5 months before the tour • 60% 4 months before the tour • 50% 3 or 2 months before the tour • 25% 1 month before the tour • 0% less than 1 month before the tour This policy is effective regardless of the cancellation reason. Sani will refund 100% in case of natural disasters in the area. However 15% will be charged for administrative expenses. |
