Self-drive Along National Route 3 - 10 days

10 days / 9 nights Puerto Madryn-Comodoro Rivadavia-Puerto Deseado-Puerto San Julián-C. Piedrabuena-El Calafate

Day 1 Trelew / Puerto Madryn.
Arrival and pick up of the rented vehicle. Start your journey to the city of Puerto Madryn. (65 km - 1 hour)
 
Day 2 Puerto Madryn. B
Visit the Valdés Peninsula, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. If fatigue is not a problem, we recommend you taking a full tour to Caleta Valdés and Punta Norte. (433 km, including 233 on gravel road - 10-11 hours)
 
Day 3 Puerto Madryn / Comodoro Rivadavia. B
On the way, we suggest stopping at Bahía Bustamante and at Cape Dos Bahías Reserve, a large colony of Magellanic penguins.
(570 km, including 200 on gravel road - 10 hours)
 
Day 4 Comodoro Rivadavia / Puerto Deseado. B
Enjoy this short trip and once in Puerto Deseado, do not miss the opportunity to sail to Del Deseado Estuary. (297 km - 4 hours)
 
Day 5 Puerto Deseado. B
Ideal day to sail to Penguin Island, declared a Marine Park because  is one of the most biodiverse marine sites in Patagonia, where you are able to know the Penacho Amarillo penguins.
 
Day 6 Puerto Deseado / Puerto San Julián. B
The next destination: San Julián, but do not miss the opportunity of taking a tour and visiting the Petrified Forest Natural Monument. (484 km, including 80 on gravel road - 9-10 hours)
 
Day 7 Puerto San Julián / C. Piedrabuena. B D
Leaving Puerto San Julián, head south and visit the Monte León Natural Reserve, the first National Marine Park of Argentina and an important wildlife reserve. (176 km, including 10 on gravel road - 2 hours)
 
Day 8 C. Piedrabuena / El Calafate B
Today, head towards El Calafate, the gateway to Los Glaciares National Park. (452 km  - 5 hours)
 
Day 9 El Calafate. B
Visit the Perito Moreno Glacier, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. (160 km - 2.3 hours)
 
Day 10 El Calafate. B
Day at leisure until the time of your flight. Please, allow plenty of time for you to return your rented car at the airport. (22 km - 30 minutes)
