Wine And Beach Self-drive Tour - 5 days
DAY 1: SANTIAGO – COLCHAGUA VALLEY (162 KM / 101 MI)
Upon your arrival to Santiago pick up your car and drive to the Colchagua Valley. You will start heading towards the town of San Fernando, located at about 140 km south of Santiago and then follow the signs to Colchagua. Along the road you will be able to see beautiful hills covered by vast vineyards and enchanting colonial estate houses. Overnight in or close to Santa Cruz.
DAY 2: FULL DAY COLCHAGUA VALLEY
While in central Chile a must do, is to visit the famous Colchagua Valley Wine Route, where you will find more than ten wineries with several hectares of vineyards available to explore. Within the vicinity you will also find other cultural highlights such as El Huique Museum. In its hallways you will observe ancient artifacts and relics that will transport you back to life in Chile during the 18th century. Overnight in or close to Santa Cruz. (B)
DAY 3: COLCHAGUA VALLEY – MATANZAS (121 KM / 75 MI)
In the morning you will leave this wonderful green valley behind and drive toward the coast to reach the beautiful town of Matanzas. Along the way make sure to stop for a little sightseeing and perhaps even souvenir shopping. Once having arrived to Matanzas you will have the rest of the evening at leisure to enjoy the town as you please. Overnight in Matanzas. (B)
DAY 4: MATANZAS
Today you will have the entire day to discover this picturesque town and its surroundings. Matanzas is known for its shoreline ideal for all different types of aquatic sports such as surf or kitesurfing. Nearby you can also find the Pupuya Beach with uniquely greyish sand and impressive dunes and rock formations. Furthermore you can visit the La Polcura Park, a beautiful nature sanctuary. Last but not least, make sure to try one of the great seafood restaurants recommended for lunch or dinner. Overnight in Matanzas. (B)
DAY 5: MATANZAS – SANTIAGO (165 KM / 103 MI)
After breakfast hit the road one last time to reach Santiago where you will return your vehicle and board your departure flight. (B)
