Wine Valley, Pacific and Andes Self-drive Tour - 5 days
DAY 1: SANTIAGO – SANTA CRUZ (182 KM / 113 MI)
Upon your arrival to Santiago, you will pick up you rental car and start your journey traveling in direction of Chiles famous wine valleys. As you make you way south, you will notice the landscape change from a bustling city to peaceful rolling hills and vineyards as far as the eye can see. Your final destination of the day will be the town of Santa Cruz located in the Colchagua Valley between the Andes Mountains and the Pacific Ocean.
DAY 2: SANTA CRUZ
Today you will have the day at leisure to explore your surroundings and get to know the Chilean countryside. Santa Cruz has very well preserved colonial architecture and the Colchagua Valley is well known for its viticulture and is home to some of the country’s best red wines. A tour to one of the local vineyards with a wine tasting is highly recommended. (B)
DAY 3: SANTA CRUZ – VALPARAÍSO (225 KM / 140 MI)
In the morning you will begin your trip to the port city of Valparaiso (declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO) where you will fall in love with this city’s natural beauty and Chilean charm. There, you can take a ride on one of the town’s typical cable cars or visit some of the city’s most important landmarks such as its boardwalk, plaza or lookout points. (B)
DAY 4: VALPARAÍSO – JAHUELS’ HOT SPRINGS (143 KM/ 89 MI)
Today you will leave the coastline behind and start your ascent towards the Andes Mountain Range. Your drive will take you to the city of San Felipe home to traditional agricultural communities. A little further north at an altitude of 1,180 m / 3,871 ft. above sea level you will find your hotel for the night known for its relaxing environment. (B, D)
DAY 5: JAHUELS’ HOT SPRINGS – SANTIAGO (95 KM / 59 MI)
After breakfast you will depart for Santiago where you will drop off your car and catch your flight out. (B)
