Patagonia Self-drive - 4 days
Please note that this itinerary can be modified by adding more days or by driving all the way to Torres del Paine on the first day, if you don't mind a long drive. Can also use different hotels.
DAY 1: PUNTA ARENAS – PUERTO NATALES (250 KM / 155 MI) Pick up your car at the airport or downtown rental car office in Punta Arenas. Take some time to explore the cultural and natural wonders of this southern region, known as the entrance to the Antarctic continent. Learn about the history of Punta Arenas and visit a variety of monuments and points of interest including the main square, the navy and maritime museum, the famous Roca Street, the Nao Victoria Museum, the Patagonian Institute and of course the city’s coastline. Located on the edge of the Strait of Magellan this metropolis is full of quaint charm and offers visitors a different perspective of life in Chile. When the time is right, proceed to your destination. Overnight in Puerto Natales. DAY 2: PUERTO NATALES – TORRES DEL PAINE (150 KM / 94 MI) The drive to Torres del Paine National Park will take you deep into the Patagonia countryside. On your way, don’t forget to visit the Milodon Cave where scientists discovered the remains of a gigantic sloth. Afterwards continue on to the Torres del Paine National Park where you will be welcomed by spectacular sights of gigantic granite towers and impressive mountain peaks. Overnight in Torres Del Paine National Park. (B) DAY 3: TORRES DEL PAINE Day at leisure to explore one of the most remarkable national parks in the world due to its unique wildlife and dramatic scenery encompassing mountains, glaciers, lakes, and rivers. Its main attraction is the Torres Del Paine peaks of the mountain range, Cerro Paine. They extend 3,050 meters above sea level, and are joined by the Cuernos Del Paine, making for a dramatic and breathtaking sight. Additionally there are several hiking trails available varying in length and difficulty. Overnight in Torres Del Paine National Park. (B) DAY 4: TORRES DEL PAINE – PUNTA ARENAS (400 KM / 245 MI) Today, make your way back to Punta Arenas to drop off your rental vehicle. (B) Price per person in US$, valid till April 30, 2025

Perito Moreno Glacier ExtensionDAY 1: TORRES DEL PAINE – EL CALAFATE (252 KM / 157 MI)
During this peaceful drive, you will pass the village and natural landmark known as Cerro Castillo and then cross over into the neighboring country of Argentina. After clearing the border your drive will mostly consist of the vast and desolate pampa landscape until reaching the town of El Calafate, known for its excellent location near the Los Glaciares National Park. Overnight in or near El Calafate. (B) DAY 2: PERITO MORENO GLACIER This morning, we recommend taking advantage of your surroundings and visit the Los Glaciares National Park. It is the second largest national park in the country and home to the breathtaking Perito Moreno Glacier that will leave you astounded. It is a 250 km2 (97 sq. mi) ice formation and measures 30 km (19 mi) in length. Additionally this spectacular park t houses a representative sample of the Magellanic Subpolar Forest and western Patagonian Steppe biodiversity. Overnight in or near El Calafate. (B) DAY 3: EL CALAFATE – PUERTO NATALES (272 KM / 169 MI) Today make your way back to Chile by following the legendary Argentinean Route 40 to Puerto Natales. On the way, make sure to take time to visit the Mylodon Cave. This Natural Monument is comprised by several rock formations and includes a cave, which is notable for the discovery of a giant ground sloth. Overnight in Puerto Natales. (B) DAY 4: PUERTO NATALES – PUNTA ARENAS (248 KM / 154 MI) The journey from Puerto Natales to Punta Arenas will take approximately 3 hours. Along the way enjoy beautiful Patagonia scenery and take a few last pictures before you drop off the car at the indicated car rental office. (B) Price per person in US$, valid until April 30, 2025:
