Pantanal and Chapada dos GuimarĂ£es Tours
|
Chapada dos Guimarães, which has dazzling views over the Pantanal. interesting rock formations and nice waterfalls, makes a great complement to the wildlife-rich Pantanal. It also has different species of birds, if you are a birder, and, because of it's altitude, is cooler than the Pantanal. So a lot of people in Cuiaba go there during the weekend and holidays.

Sample 5 day ItineraryDay 1 - CUIABÁ/ PANTANAL - Pick-up at the airport and immediate transfer to the traditional town of Poconé with introduction to the geological formation and flora characteristics, then to the lodge, arriving there after a brief safari along the Transpantaneira park-road with many stops to observe its rich fauna. Having left the Pantanal wetland, where the altitude is about 120m of sea level, is climbed 700m in only 200km for observing a gorgeous sunset into a large panorama that includes the water spring of three very important rivers that form the Pantanal. Then, on to the pleasant town of Chapada de Guimarães for dinner and overnight at the Rio Hotel.

"We had a fantastic time in South America and I can’t believe all our internal flights worked out, although not overly impressed with Latam. All the lodges in the Pantanal are fine and exactly what we were expecting. Loved the Pantanal experience, for us, better than the Amazon!" Yvonne |
