Tierra del Fuego Self-drive Tour - 4 Days
DAY 1: PUNTA ARENAS – PORVENIR – DESEADO LAKE (335 KM / 208 MI)
This drive will take you across the Strait of Magellan by ferry to the mythical Island of Tierra del Fuego. Your final destination of the day will be Deseado Lake located in the extreme south of the region surrounded by clear lakes and pristine forests. Overnight near Deseado Lake. (B)
DAY 2: DESEADO LAKE – BELLAVISTA PASS – USHUAIA (340 KM / 211 MI)
Today’s drive will take you across breathtaking landscapes and amazing natural scenery. As you make your way to Ushuaia located on the shores of the legendary Beagle Channel you will be surrounded by mountains, lakes and amazing views. Overnight in Ushuaia. (B)
DAY 3: USHUAIA
Ushuaia is the capital of Tierra del Fuego, and is commonly regarded as the end of the world. Today you will have time at leisure to explore this unique place and perhaps even visit the Tierra del Fuego National Park or participate in a navigation excursion. Overnight in Ushuaia. (B)
DAY 4: USHUAIA – PUNTA ARENAS (618 KM / 384 MI)
After breakfast you will need to depart early and head back to Punta Arenas. As you traverse the barren landscapes you will get one last opportunity to enjoy this remote region. Upon your arrival to the city head straight to the car rental office to drop off your vehicle. (B)
