“Enjoying the Mountains and the Atlantic Rain Forest”
 
This full-day tour is perfect option for those who want to enjoy a pleasant relaxing day in nature. The road from Rio to Serra dos Orgãos offers wonderful views of this impressive mountain range that attracts trekkers from all around the world. We will visit the National Park headquarters, swim in the Soberbo River and visit the small Von Marius natural history museum. We will also take a 1:30hs hike to the “Cartão Postal” viewpoint, where we have astonishing views of many sharp peaks, including the famous “Dedo de Deus” (God’s Finger).

The exotic shaped peaks, the preserved rain forest, the clear water rivers and luxurious waterfalls are some of the attractions of this tour. On the first day the 11 km trail, approximately 5 hours, takes you to the summit of Pedra do Sino at 2263 meters high (7500 feet), where you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the mountains and the city of Rio de Janeiro. We spend the night at a Mountain Refuge with shared rooms and bunk beds where your guide will cook you dinner. On the next morning we will take you to the summit to enjoy the sunrise. After breakfast we hike down and go for a swim in the clear water pools of the Soberbo River, surrounded by the tropical forest

PETRÓPOLIS x TERESÓPOLIS – 3 DAYS TREKKING TRIP

The “Travessia Petropolis-Teresopolis” is one of Brazil’s most famous and amazing treks. The long trail crosses the whole Serra dos Orgãos mountain range. We start the trekking at the Teresopolis Park Headquarters and go on a 11 km (7 miles) Atlantic Rain Forest trail up to the Mountain Lodge at Pedra do Sino, perfect spot to enjoy a beautiful sunset. From the summit on clear days we can even see the lights of Rio de Janeiro, 80 miles away. Back to the lodge you will enjoy a nice hot meal prepared by your guide. On the second day the sunrise is one of the highlights of the trip. After breakfast we will face the hardest part of the trail on a 6 hours hike going up and down across the mountains to reach the Açu Peak, where we spend the second night. The trail offers wonderful views of the mountains and beautiful High Field Meadows. On the third day we will hike for 5 hours downhill, before we drive back to Rio. This trek is only recommended for experienced and fit hikers!

5 hours hike down from Açu Peak to Correas district (moderate/ hard)
