Bahia Solano
The region between Bahía Solano and Nuquí has been declared a
biodiversity hotspot due to its importance on the conservation and abundance of wildlife all year long. The great advantage of Bahía Solano over Nuqui is to be really close to Utria National Park and have easier flight connections. Bahía Solano is a destination to visit anytime of the year.
DAY 1: (06:30 to 10:30) – Meeting at Enrique Olaya Herrera airport in Medellín (the meeting time depends on the flight itinerary), then you will take a 1-hour flight to get to Bahía Solano, where the local team will receive you and take you in private vehicles to “El Valle”, where you will check-in at the hotel and will have lunch. After that, you will have a guided hike to the El Pozo de los deseos waterfall enjoying the sun- set on the beach before returning to the hotel
in order to have dinner and rest. DAY 2: (07:00) – Breakfast and departure to have wildlife encounters depending on the season of the year. It can be birdwatching, turtle liberations, whale-watching activity in small private boats, scuba diving with whale-sharks and sardines, continental expeditions or a mix between them. Later on, you will head to the community of Mecana, where you will have lunch, will enjoy the fresh waters of its rivers, the beach and the sunset, before returning to the hotel to have dinner and rest. DAY 3: (07:00) – Breakfast and departure from El Valle dock in speed boats towards Utría National Park, where you can see one of the most well-preserved ecosystems of the area. Once there, you will have a guided walk through the Mangroves trail. On the way back, you will visit Playa Blanca (White Beach) inside the National Park, before heading back to El Valle, where you will have lunch and free-time to enjoy El Almejal beach and the sunset in that area. You will end the day having dinner and resting at the hotel. DAY 4: (08:00) – Breakfast and departure towards Juná river, where you will have a canoe activity upstream the river having the chance to get into the river ecosystems of the Pacific coast where you can see mangroves, birds and wildlife proper of these areas visiting also on the way El Tigre waterfall. After enjoying the fresh waters there, you will head back to the hotel, where you will have lunch and free-time to enjoy the beaches and the sunset in the area. You will end the day having dinner and rest in the hotel. DAY 5: (07:00) – Breakfast at the hotel and then free time till the hour of the airport citation. There a private vehicle will take you to Bahía Solano airport in order to take your flight back to the airport of Medellin (the departure time will depend on the flight itinerary and can be from 9 AM till 2 PM). The flight takes 1 hour to get to Medellín where your journey at the Colombian pacific coast will end. INCLUDES

The area has the same fishing conditions as Tropic Star Lodge in Panama, but with less fishing pressure, this up-and-coming sportfishing mecca is only accessible by boat or plane. Several hundred miles of virgin jungle border the Pacífic Ocean with a mix of sandy beaches and rocky shoreline.
They are privileged to have excellent fishing conditions all year round because all of the prime species are residents, but they have 2 main seasons so anglers can have a full experience. They also do the fishing expeditions off season with excellent results. we have the option from 1 to 4 anglers per trip. Inshore season (March to June) in one of the largest sardine migrations in the world where you are going for species like (Marlin, Sailfish, Tuna, Cubera snapper, Jacks, Amberjack, Tarpons, Roosters) - many times when we you in this season you have the chance to fight the fish with a beautiful background of the jungle and whale sharks eating below the boat - it is a unique scenery. Bahia Solano shares the common characteristics of diving in the Colombian Pacific: rocky bottoms or ridges with large fauna and variable visibility conditions. Between the ridges there are vertical walls, mountains that emerge from the sea, countless small caves and aquariums with crystal clear water. From Utria Cove to Cabo Marzo Sentinels, there are over 200 dive sites, among the most predominant coral species we can find angelfish, butterfly, sea turtle, cabrillo, parrot, jellyfish and puffer fish and larger species such as snappers, jacks, amberjacks, mantas, tuna, sharks, groupers, whale shark, barracudas, sailfish.
For Diving we have 2 package options: 4 days/3 nights (4 dives) - 5 days/4 nights (6 dives), our diving experiences are for 6 people per trip, we can do less with an extra cost.
