Pantanal and Nobres tours combine the spectacular wildlife viewing of the Pantanal with Nobres. Just 150 km away from Cuiabá by paved roads, it offers blue water lagoons, amazing waterfalls, crystal clear rivers and mysterious caves. The destination is not well known by tourists yet. The tours offered there are similar to those in Bonito, however the waters are warmer, what makes them more pleasant. As it is a “new” destination, the infrastructure is a little limited, with simple pousadas and restaurants.

Sample 4 day itinerary Day 1 Pick-up at the airport and immediate transfer to the traditional town of Poconé with introduction to the geological formation and flora characteristics, then to the lodge, arriving there after a brief safari along the Transpantaneira park-road with many stops to observe its rich fauna. Arrival in time to do the check-in and an afternoon jeep safari through the flooding fields and visiting an ‘island of vegetation’ where many birds nests (Hyacinth Macaws, Jabiru Storks) might be observed. Back to the lodge for a brief time, then we depart again for a night safari – using open vehicles especially equipped with flashlights to spot night behaved animals, such as foxes, deer, puma, jaguar, tapir, etc. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2 . In the early morning, we do an overland safari through the Termites mound-hills, trying to see the Giant Anteater. After breakfast, the jeep safari will visit a remote stream with a large concentration of birds (including Hyacinth Macaws in their nests), many caimans and some otters. In the afternoon, we do an overland safari through the fields and forests, in the Jaguar territory, with a good possibility of seeing Americas’ third largest cat. Back to the lodge for a brief time, then we depart again for a night safari – using open vehicles especially equipped with flashlights to spot night behaved animals, such as foxes, deer, puma, jaguar, tapir, etc. Dinner and overnight. Day 3 - In the early morning, we do an overland safari through the Termites mound-hills, trying to see the Giant Anteater. Transfer to Cuiabá and on to the village of Bom Jardim, in Nobres, arriving there by the middle-end of the afternoon. Observation of the sunset at the Macaws’ lake, where many birds (parrots, parakeets, macaws and some aquatic birds) roost in the evening. Dinner and overnight on a little resort on the water springs area. Day 4. In the morning, we snorkel at the head of the crystalline Salobra river waters. At the convenient time, transfer to Cuiabá with drop-off at the hotel or airport. Optional Extra Day NOBRES In the morning, we visit the river Triste, snorkeling there with the best chance to see the Sting-ray fishes and Anacondas. In the afternoon, visit to the Blue Hills Waterfall. Prices include: transportation, accommodations, guided touring, meals from dinner on day one through lunch on last day or from lunch on day one through breakfast on last day, but not drinks, except for coffee and fruit juices with breakfasts and water on tours.
