In general can be visited all year round . Nuquí is a strategic place to watch whales with its warm and calm waters. El Cantil has seven comfortable rooms for single, double and multiple occupancy. The simple architectural design gently blends in with the surrounding natural environment, ensuring you a peaceful and harmonious rest. The cabins are built with immunised wood, shingle roofs, and each has its own spacious bathroom with jungle views. Every room has good quality mattresses and mosquito nets on each bed, built-in wardrobes, and a terrace with hammocks and an ocean view. El Cantil Ecolodge has been built under the premise that ecotourism shouldn't mean discomfort. The common areas consist of a kiosk-style restaurant with a 35-person capacity, two sun terraces with excellent ocean views and a hammock area. The panoramic view from the restaurant makes breakfasts, lunches and dinners unique experiences, which, added to the famous flavours of the hotel's seafood menu, will not let you forget your visit to El Cantil. Day 1 - own transfer to Medellin airport . Charter flight to Nuqui.
You will be picked up at the airport in Nuquí and from there you will take a boat transfer along the coast, to the El Cantil Ecolodge. The journey lasts approximately 35 minutes. Once in El Cantil, you can settle in and enjoy your first day in this paradise on the Colombian Pacific Coast. The Nuqui Tourism tax is not included ($15.000 COP per person) Night in El Cantil - Private double room, with bathroom, mosquito net and balcony (All main meals included) Day 2 - Today you will leave by boat on a tour to observe the immensity of the Pacific Ocean and watch the impressive whales that visit Nuquí. Between the months of June and October the whales travel from the cold waters of the Antarctic to south of America, and finally to the warm and calm waters of the Colombian Pacific to mate and have their offspring. The whales can be seen at a minimum distance of 200 meters from the boat, in order not to invade their space and also to provide greater security to the viewer, although the humps are very tame and sometimes friendly. In Nuquí, internationally recommended practices of responsible sighting are followed. Sometimes it is the whales that approach the boats, the ideal moment to take an incredible photo. Day 3 - Today you can enjoy the environment of one of the most biodiverse areas on the planet, the Chocó Biogeográfico. You will have the opportunity to take a walk along a natural path to the Cascada del Amor, then, you will walk along the beaches of Nuquí and visit a native population. Optionally, you can take part in extra activities such as boat rides, expeditions, surf lessons, sport fishing, kayaking and paddle surfing (not included). Day 4 - Today will be your last day in this marvelous corner of Colombia. You will have a bit of time after breakfast to enjoy the natural surroundings. You will then be taken to the airport in Nuqui where you will continue your onward journey to Medellin. 2021 price per person in US$ with 2 people in double room: $1136. Each room or cabin has a private bathroom and is equipped with mosquito nets, towels, hammocks, floral arrangements and a terrace overlooking the sea. The lodging includes the three meals prepared by native cooks, welcome cocktail, juices and coffee, common spaces with hammocks and a guided tour through the jungle and to the native community. The house faces the beach and is suitable for the whole family, with a moderate swell free of dangerous currents or rocks.
Day 1 - own transfer to Medellin airport . Today in the morning take a small plane to the remote village of Nuquí located at Colombia’s unspoiled Pacific Coast. Colombia ́s Chocó region is the most biodiverse region of the country and almost completely covered by tropical rain forest. At the small local airport of Nuquí your local coordinator will receive you and accompany you to the boat that brings you to your accommodation. As there are no streets, all transport is by boat. On the way we enjoy the incredible landscapes where the mountains full of lush tropical rainforest descent to the sea. After a fresh lunch enjoy your hike through the jungle to the small waterfall “Cascada del amor” (tour approximately 2 hours). The Nuqui Tourism tax is not included ($15.000 COP per person) This itinerary includes a two-hour whale watching boat trip. Sighting not guaranteed.
Night in La Kuka - Private double room, with bathroom and mosquito net (All main meals included) Day 2 - Today you will make a guided walk to the village of Termales, a small afro- Colombian community south of Guachalito. During the walk there is a huge possibility to watch a variety of birds, monkeys and frogs.The name Termales is related to the natural hot springs located outside the village. After a one- hour hike to the thermals, you have the possibility to relax in the hot pool surrounded by tropical trees before walking home to your hotel. Possibility of returning back in speed boat (not included). Day 3 - Enjoy your free day on the beach or in the jungle, or book one or their extra activities, for example kayaking, surfing, snorkeling, diving, etc. (not included) Day 4 - After breakfast you will travel back to Medellin. One last time you will drive along the coast with the boat and enjoy the unique landscapes of tropical rain forest and Pacific beaches.
