Angels of the Amazon Christmas Special
Founded in 2007 as a non-profit organization, the mission of the Angels of the Amazon foundation is to provide aid to the 8,000 indigenous people living in the 12 communities in the Tahuayo River basin. The Tahuayo River is a modest tributary of the upper Amazon River, about 100 miles SSW of Iquitos, Peru. This is a very remote part of the world. Iquitos City is the world’s largest city which is not connected to any other city by road, being surrounded by impenetrable Amazon jungle.
In support of Angels of the Amazon, we are offering a very special program only during the month of December 2022. Stay at the Amazonia Lodges in December and not only will you get a special rate of $1045 for a 5-day/4-night program, but we will donate $50 from each passenger to Angels of the Amazon. |
The Lodge is on the shores of the Tahuayo River in the Peruvian Amazon Basin and is an example of Sustainable Tourism. This is a great place to bring your family for the Holidays with flexible accommodations and all-inclusive packages in which each family is assigned a private guide that will explore with you our surrounding biodiversity as the founder did as a researcher in the 1980s.
In addition to winning Peru’s top environmental protection award in 2019, they have been Certified by the Rainforest Alliance since 2018. The lodge has been the only jungle lodge out of Iquitos to win Trip Advisor’s Certificate of Excellence every year in 2012-2020 and also recognized as having one of the world’s top ten zip lines.
