This area has more than 85 lakes and exuberant vegetation with a great variety flora species such as the Lupuna tree, measuring up to 160 feet tall with a diameter of 10 feet in four forest types. It also has 130 species of mammals such as the jaguar, wild cat, river wolf and capybara (world's biggest rodent), and several species of monkeys in danger of extinction, like the black spider monkey, the yellow breast and the giant otter. There are 350 bird species like toucans and blue, yellow and red macaws.
All this, plus the 150 reptiles in 20 families, makes this forest one with the largest number of species seen on any tourist itinerary in the world.The most important resource in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve is the aquatic fauna, with 250 species of fish, plus two species of turtle, pink and grey dolphins, and the manatee.
M/V Cattleya has a capacity for twelve passengers. Each departure date can be scheduled with a minimum of four passengers. All four cabins have King size beds, bedside tables, air conditioning (in rooms and all indoor areas, electric mirrors, fine pillows, sheets and blankets (100% Peruvian cotton, 600 thread count),100% organic bathroom accessories,finest quality bathrobes and towels,electric current for 110/220 volts, shower, hot water, safe deposit boxes and minibar. A roller bed can be added to each cabin for a child.

Their service is personalized - they can prepare special itineraries for their passengers. They can open any departure date with a minimum of two people (only for 5d/4n and 4d/3n programs). The ship Cattleya was designed and built with high quality materials. All interiors feature fine finishes, comfortable furniture and air conditioning. Water is 100% clean and stored in special tanks. All bathroom accessories are 100% organic. The food is regional gourmet (Peruvian fusion) with the most varied and exotic ingredients, served with imported European cutlery and glass. The crew and guide have work experience in hotels and major river cruise companies in Iquitos and Brazil. the skiffs are new and with a maximum capacity of 10 passengers. All this effort is to provide the best service to their guests and their commitment to providing the best possible service to their workers and indigenous communities who started supporting them from the moment they began operations. There are 2 naturalist guides if there are at least 8 passengers.

Children Policy: 8 years minimum on all programs, children under 13 receive a 25% discount. Rates include: all excursions, all meals, all non-alcoholic drinks, transfers from / to the ship on recommended flights, tickets to the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve. Rates do not include air tickets to and from Iquitos, cost of medical emergencies(including evacuation), premium alcoholic drinks, gratuities to guides and crew, purchases in our boutique or in other locations, any additional excursions. Bookings: A deposit for cruise of US$ 450.00 per person is required to secure a confirmed reservation.The final balance is due no later than 90 days prior to sailing. Cancellations made 121 days or more prior to sailing: An amount of US$ 100.00 will be deducted for each passenger. Cancellations made between 120 and 91 days prior to sailing: No deposit is refundable. Cancellations made 90 days or less prior to sailing: Full payment will be applied as a cancellation penalty. Flights: We recommend LAN Airlines. The arriving time is between 4 - 6 PM. The flight from Lima to Iquitos we recommend departs between 1 - 3 PM. Passengers return to Iquitos after lunch. |
