Galapagos cruises on catamarans were introduced a number of years ago as a way to offer a more stable ride on the small yachts that average about 16 passengers, since one of the common fears was that some people would get seasick otherwise.
Recently, some new catamarans were introduced with next generation technology to make sailings even smoother and they also offer some other enhanced amenities to improve the visitor experience.

The M/C Endemic was the first of the new catamarans in 2018 and then in 2019 the Elite came online. Note the difference between the front of the 2 hulls on the Endemic and those on the older ship in the photos below.

The curved design at the front of the hulls helps to "cut" through the waves better, providing a more stable ride. Also note:
- the cabins on the Endemic (as well as the Elite) have a "wall" of full length windows, while the cabins on the older ship just have large portholes
- all cabins on the Endemic and the Elite have private balconies, while not all of the ones on the older ship have them - there is an open walkway on the lower deck, so people can just walk by the cabin window.
Of course these aren't the only changes to enhance the visitor experience on the new ships, compared to the older ones, but they are maybe the most obvious ones. Also, the Endemic has an excellent wi-fi connection, which is very fast and available at all times, at extra cost. That is unlike other boats and even hotels on the islands, which have unreliable internet service.
