The journey will be during the daytime and there will not be any stops along the way, allowing the passengers to enjoy the breathtaking landscapes on the road as well as a first-class service. During the trip - which lasts around 10 hours - a gourmet lunch made with the best Andean ingredients will be served, and it will be accompanied by a show with typical music and dances from the Peruvian highlands.
The train has capacity for 132 passengers as well as 6 cars: 4 dining cars, one bar and observatory car and a luggage car. So it has more capacity than the luxury Belmond train, which was often full, especially since the 1 day trip operates only 1 day a week in each direction on a 1 day / 1 night itinerary (Tuesdays from Cusco and Wednesdays from Puno). The Belmond also operates a 3 day / 2 night trip on a Cusc-Puno Arequipa itinerary that departs every Thursday morning from the Cusco station and every Saturday night from the Arequipa station.
Reservations for the PeruRail Titicaca Train will be available starting May 17th.
