Thinking of going to the Games this summer? Have you researched touring options for the Rio Olympics? If so, you may have noticed that, just like at any Olympics, the prices for hotels and services are higher than normal, because of the demand. They had the same problem during the World Cup. But, unlike the World Cup, which had events all over the country, all of the Olympic events will be in the Rio area, so that is the only area that will have availability and pricing problems. |
I've been told by operators in the Pantanal and Amazon that bookings are slow for the July-August period, so overcrowding won't be a problem there (unlike during World Cup). They think that maybe people are afraid of the Zika virus, though there have been no reported cases in the northern Pantanal and few in the Amazon. Most cases are in the large urban areas, not in the wilderness. |
